Some good games on today. Watched Bama beat Arkansas 49-14. UT and Florida on now, LSU-Auburn tonight. UGA-ASU tonight, as well. Roll Tide...
A&M is going to have an abysmal season this year hopefully they don't pull off another win over us to end the season.
Great win for the Hurricanes yesterday. After getting scores on in the first regular play of the game, we really kept at it until the game was pretty much in hand at 41-10 near the end of the third quarter. A&M scored two TD's in the 3rd / 4th quarter to get the score to 41-23. I think we have a good chance for a really good bowl this year. Definitely an improvement from last year. FSU / WF looked terrible! How the heck does FSU get ranked for beating two D-1AA teams anyway? Overall the ACC did really well yesterday, winning all the OOC games. We must not be the WORST conference. GO CANES! BT
AP top 5 has 3 SEC teams. #3 UGA #4 UF #5 LSU I would put LSU ahead of UF for now given how good they looked last night. The AU-LSU game was good as usual.
-Gee USC plays one ranked team all year. That is one tough schedule they have there and then the one ranked team they play was the SEC's beyotch 2 years in a row. I said it before and I'll say it again , the real national championship game is the SEC Championship game. Auburn drops 5 spots for losing to a team 4 spots ahead of them. If the polls are right then Auburn should have stayed ranked 10th since they lost to #6
Unless we iron out a few more offensive kinks, it won't matter because we'll likely lose at least two more games before the season is over.
It just shows what BS this ranking system is , you guys lose a close game to a team ranked 4 spots ahead of you and you are penalized five spots. USC plays one ranked team all year and they are ranked number one and will stay there beacause they do not play one good team all year.
Favoritism plays big in the rankings, it always has. I recall a #1 team falling to #2 when they lost to the #2 ranked team. Hardly gives anyone else a chance. Just curious, has the SEC been the best forever, or just since WWII??? BT
Forever, I think. To change gears, not sure if anybody mentioned it but what about FSU? They've just fallen off the map. I saw Lou Holtz talking about how good they were after beating a couple of doormats, and then they lose, at home 12-3 to Wake Forest. They need to clean house there, including Bobby and Jimbo. What an embarrassment. Reminds me of the Gators when we had the Zooker.
FSU really stunk it up this past weekend. They looked positively terrible on offense. If they can manage to play that poorly we will definitely beat them in two weeks. I don't get why someone would have ranked them in the top 25 after beating two 1-AA teams. Wake was not much better, but I guess they did not want to lose as much as FSU. The lack of discipline was really evident with the numerous dumb after the play penalties. Preston Parker should go back to petit theft. Bobby has a free pass to stay as long as he wants. I hope he stays for maye another 20 years. I'm glad that the SEC has been the best forever. It makes our previous wins against the SEC champs that much more impressive... BT
Somehow Auburn never comes out on top of the favoritism pile. No love in 2004 and Miami leap frogging us in 1983.
Yea, I was really disappointed in the 'Noles. I'm hoping it's not a precursor to the rest of the season. They've gotta get back to where they were in the '90s. Went to the A&M/MIA game with a bunch of my Aggie alum friends. Had a great time. Was pretty impressed with my Sam Houston Bearkats against Kansas. Considering they slept in the fieldhouse for a week, and hadn't played in 3 they did good. Especially not being the same caliber team as Kansas. I'll take 2 touchdowns against a ranked team. Just shows progress of where our program is headed.
That Sam Houston game was surprising to me. Troy hanging with tOSU for 45 minutes was another surprising one to me. I guess all that parity talk has some merit. I have heard that the Texas A&M fans are some very nice hosts. I wish I could say the same for the typical UM fan. BT
