This isn't a ride report or anything entertaining, just a thread to add another positive long drive experience in what many fear to be a car risky to take on extended mileage trips. Drove 803mi from NY to Charleston yesterday in 12 hours on the nose (which included a brief stop chatting with a very cool VA State Trooper after a BOLO for a red Ferrari :D ) Car drove flawlessly the entire drive (except for at gas sta when the starter wouldn't engage "gee, that's embarassing" said an onlooker, to which I replied, "not really, I'm still in a Ferrari.").

Maybe I'm just lucky but my 328 has given me over 5K trouble free miles.

It's always great to hear that some of us don't keep the car in a bubble and enjoy what these are made for...driving, duh!...

Think I'd fix the starter before my next drive! :)

I posted about this and only got that a few others experience the same thing, dealt with by jarring the car. In my case I was able to push it and roll start it (very easy btw).

I did catch a walnut size rock on the right fender above the headlight which took a nice chip out, which really sucks since it's the only thing of it's kind now marring the entire front. And that was with the nearest forward car 200' away, and no trucks for a mile. Ah well.

Great to hear that the car ran great. Many people have said that the more you drive them, the better they run. I have been averaging about 6,000 miles/year since I bought my 328 3 years ago, and am a believer. Keep on driving and smiling.
