Ok, I have found a 348 challenger that is in really rough shape. The car is whole, doesnt run, and looks like it has had a REALLY rough life. What is the car worth for parts (engine was rebuilt, tranny looks good from what they told me). I really dont feel like working on it and just would part it out?? Most of the body is beat up (front bumper, rear bumper), but other than that it is whole. I cant start it so I am buying it praying to the FCAR gods. Insane or good deal? I was thinking 20k range ?? Thanks!
The car is a real 348 challenger and is not hit front or rear or white, just a lot a RUBBING on the front and rear. The car is stripped down to the bone for weight saving and has only one front seat and the dash has just the tach? Is this normal? The car doesnt have a DME do also might need to know if someone has an extra I could purchase and what they go for? I dont know alot of 348s, but I read there is a normal 348 DME and Challenger DME one so either will get the beast started so I can get it running if I buy it? Thanks for the help, the 348 challenger is totally different that the 355 so I have no idea what to expect.
To be honest here I think you are over your head. The first thing I should correct you on is the name. It is a "348 Challenge". lets start here. What do you want to do here? race? street hot rod?
According to Wikipedia, "DME was a popular, fully customizable text editor for the Amiga computer." Don't worry about finding one, Amigas are in bountiful supply on Ebay. I recommend the 256k RAM model for the these cars as it has the extra memory needed to manage the Challenger's flux capacitor engine.
Why waste your time. What about this one...... http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=1709&cat=2
If you are talking about the yellow one in Sandy, UT forget it - it's about as used up as a race car can get.
Actually You're wrong. Ferrari called it a Ferrari 348 Challenge. type that into google. or..go find Ferrari S.p.A. factory brocure "#654/91 Ferrari 348 Challenge Press" that goes into great detail about the Ferrari 348 Ferrari ChallengE.
just to make this perfectly clear Factory Factory Catalog Cat. # 781/93 lists "Ferrari 348 Challenge" Factory Ferrari 348 Challenge Brochure # 833/94 lists "Ferrari 348 Challenge" see below...no "R"..sorry Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Ron, you're wrong. It's a ChallengeR....... Challenger (NASA Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV-099) was NASA's second Space Shuttle orbiter to be put into service, Columbia being the first. Its maiden flight was on April 4, 1983, and it completed nine missions before breaking apart 73 seconds after the launch of its tenth mission, STS-51-L on January 28, 1986, killing all seven crew members. Ferrari S.P.A. is not telling the truth...... That's a joke !!! Best Regards.
I own a 348 challengE. The plate says 348 challengE. The parts catalogue says 348 challengE. I have never heard or seen it refered to as a challengER. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
By god I think you might have something here..I wonder if NASA looked at the failure of the DMEs as a possible cause!
Are you serious what are you talking about? I just sold my 348 ChallengE AND every time you say ChallengER it hurts my ears please stop
