Looks like a perfect example of a 355. Exactly the specs I'd be looking for myself. Congrats and post plenty of photos. :)

Time for Wetpet to come on here and tell you what a terrible car the 355 is.

Just for the haters out there that think the market is falling and you can buy a clean car for 30-40% less then 6months ago...care to share what the asking/settled prices were?

FANTASTIC! You won't be disappointed, I'm so addicted to the sound and experience I drive it nearly every day. We expect to see you posting experiences in the 355 section, good or bad. 'course with a '99 you've taken many of the bad off the table...great choice :D

Congrats on the purchase! I would suggest you think twice about your tire choice however. The Sport Cup's are an R compound tire which are great on the track but not so great on the road and not good at all in the wet. I would go with something like the Yokohoma Advan Sport or some other ultra high performance summer tire.

How much? Make sure they check the exhaust manifolds, do a compression and perhaps a leakdown. The wrong car is going to cost you a bundle.

Modena arrived from Georgia late Monday. A few pics are posted currently. Click on Ferrari general discussion , pan till see Modena F1 pics. Had great surprise yesterday as other than driving the day of delivery, did not look into engine bay nor bonnet. In the bonnet found bran new Ferrari car cover, then opening the engine bay found a Tubi exhaust which was totally unexpected.

    laxexquis,

Don't lose any sleep over this purchase. I did almost the exact same thing when I bought my first Ferrari about 7 years ago (a 1988 red/tan 328 GTS from a reputable dealer after a test drive I'll never forget). Everything worked out great.

A post purchase inspection isn't as good as a pre purchase one, but better than no inspection at all.

Enjoy your car. You will never forget your first Ferrari! All the best.

You now own one of the best cars ever made (or designed). Soak it in.

Also, what part of the country do you live in? Many of us know great shops to service your 355 if you tell us where about your live.

Hi I can thoroughly recommend the Pirrelli Corsa they are an excellent tyre for your 355. I had them fitted after thr yokohama advanx and they were like cheese and chalk. I wanted a softer compound tyre due to the small miles each year ie about 10000kl as I wanted the best grip and as tyres get older they get harder and less grip. I was aiming at a new set each 18 months so I bought the softest street tyre and upped the width slightly on the front and rear I forget now but I think the standard 355 has 225 front and I went up to 235 and on the rears from255 to 285 I think ???? the tyre shop can work out the formula for you but they were a quiet tyre excellent on concrete roads that are rougher and noisier much quieter than the yokos, and the grip was excellent, not quite as grippy in the wet as the yokos but I rarely drove in the rain. In australia they were about 3k for the set and I was wrapped in them could not shake them loose on dry roads.

    hmmmm.......

Car is in California at Cammisa Motorcar Company.

IP trace for laxexquis's posts leads to NY as point of origin.

    Methinks something is amiss here.

Laxexquis - am I reading this wrong, are you jetting from coast to coast at a moment's notice?

Or is there something wrong with my usually reliable IP trace software?
