If you knew my stepdad you would realize why I alway's did the speed limit LOL!
187 mph/ 300 kph GPS 150 mph Bugatti Verified (GPS) 177 mph Ford GT (stock) 147 mph Vector W8 110 mph C4 Corvette 90 mph RT/10 Viper some other cars i can't remember... all on closed roads, or airstrips I generally drive 3-5 mph over the speed limit as a general rule. I'm not one for going fast on the road. That is why I have never had a speeding ticket.
My dad drives a Buick so I would say about 38 MPH in the far left hand lane with the turn signal on for like 3 and a half miles.
My dad and I once had a AWD V8 Mercury Mountaineer rental that we took mudding in a corn field in PA. That was fun as we just returned it covered in mud!
I have had a lot of fun in my fathers cars, hell I still do. I am 25 now but 3 years ago I was taking my then girlfriend out to dinner in my fathers 360 Spider, on the way home some guy in an 05 M3 pulls up next to us on the highway, well he kinda looks at me funny and I decided to hit it, I dropped from 6th to 3rd only doing 65 at the time and punched it to redline, and kept at it all the way to 160, when I ran out of guts, the top was down too and I have to say that really was AWESOME! I have been very lucky that my father is a HUGE car guy and has taught me how to drive so I know how to handle myself, I have track experience and have been to driving schools, however I know doing 160 was stupid and I would never do that again on a highway, outside of events. I even told my father about it later and he admitted to a similar experience, I am now caretaker of his 71 365 GTC/4 and I have had that up to about 140 on another highway that is always deserted plus it was about 6-am. This is my car now and I do take great pride in it. Also I am not some immature kid, I know more about cars and speed then most people I know, older and younger than I am. I have an immense amount of respect for cars and speed in general. I work finance for my family company and earn my own way, I am a very lucky guy but not spoiled.
i used to work for a car dealership, corvette c5 convertible, 120 in a 55, top down (its the only way i fit, im 6'6'') dad's volvo station wagon- 115 my dodge pick up truck- 115, still had room to go mom's minivan- 110
150Mph/250kph: 03 Mercedes-Benz E320 (Dad's business partner's car) 02 Acura 3.2TL (Brother in law's car) 131Mph/210Kph: 06 Acura RL A-Spec (Uncle's) 99 Honda Civic (I was surprised as hell) (Sister's) 118Mph/190Kph 04 Acura EL (Mine) 02 Lexus GS300 (Friends) 07 Acura MDX (Same uncle as the RL) 04 Honda Odyssey (Another surprising one) (Uncle's before the MDX upgrade)
My old Z3 M Coupe: 155mph on the Austrian Autobahn (250km/h limited) Uncle's XKR: around 130mph in Hungary Uncle's Ghibli SS somewhere around 120mph Friends 911 Techart Turbo - slightly north of 180mph on the german Autobahn between Salzburg and Munich Some 125cc motorcycle - 30mph on a parking lot and I seriously thought I'd die
At the original Scuderia Rampage in 2005 I was one of the few that wasn't from the West Coast, and I forgot to reserve a nice rental. So I ended up with a Kia Amanti, which I dubbed the SuperKia. I know for a fact that it crossed 110 MPH as the caravan left the Shelby facility. Above that speed I wasn't looking at the speedo. Brakes are a little iffy at that speed, though... mhhh... Dads' car : 120 mph With a Promotheus car on the Benz' test track 140 mph (Wasn't driving though, I was 15...) With a rental car, a lame 95 mph between LA and LV. I actually hate driving hard a car that isn't mine (they used to get maxed out if not daily then weekly, but it all became boring). Oh, I never got a speeding ticket neither...
Dads (then Mom's) 1992 Chevy Blazer - 110mph. --- Pretty scary. Back seat of a 1996 (I think) Mustang Cobra - 155mph ---- Shakey My friend (secretly) took out his dad's undercover sherrif car and threw a rod....LMAO! He use to take it down the street to a friends, shine the spotlight in his window and say funny stuff over the loud speaker. Good times!
"I got my mom's Prius up to 95, I had no idea it could even do that until I saw the speedo." what kinda mileage were you getting? lol
Had my dads old 1993 Caddy STS up to 120 mph...holy torque-steer batman! It felt pretty composed at that speed too. I've driven Subaru STi's and a BMW M5 before, but I did not own them so I don't feel comfortable going insane speeds in other people's toys.
I was driving to Oregon with my mom and my sister and I took my moms Kia Rio up to 105 for a brief time. The road was really straight and hardly any traffic. My friend let me drive his 83 mustang a few weeks ago and I could only get it up to 80.. its not very fast for being a mustang and having a v-6 heh. Not sure if this counts, but my dad's ex girlfriend let him barrow her 2002 Corvette, white with a hardtop, but we went 140 in it. The acceleration in it was amazing.
hit the rev limiter on my dad's E36 M3 back in the day...I think it was 137 mph or something. Dad was in the passenger's seat
Probably 85 in my parents old civic. Early gutless thingy. 300+ in my friends Tahoe. Verified by GPS, and those things don't lie, right??? I think I read somewhere rental companies have 'trackers' or GPS systems that can tell how fast you took their cars?
I have a new record. I was driving back from Oregon in my moms Kia Rio again on Sunday and my goal was 120. So I got the chance to go all out. I got it up to 100 no problem, 105 was shortly after, then 110. I was thinking "Come on car, you're almost there." 115 rolled around... and it just sat at 115... Oh well, thats still pretty quick for a little Kia Rio I looked in my rearview mirror and my mom was right behind me in her husbands Cobalt.. haha
