If you have old car magazines around your garage and house like me, then this article will make you laugh...or cry.

Sports Car Digest has a good story about "Classified Ads from the Past," where they profile a 1974 Road & Track ad for an original A.C. Cobra 427 S/C that is listed for $10,000.

SCD said those Cobras now sell for $1.5 million or more. Insane!

    Here is the article: http://www.sportscardigest.com/archives/1761

Gotta love those ads. A good buddy of mine tells the story of an original GT40 sitting at a gas station. When he was 16 (1970) there was an original GT40 just baking in the sun, at a gas station in Las Vegas. The owner was asking a few grand at the time and nobody wanted it. But noooooo, he wanted a new Z28 (which he still has). He kicks himself in the ass til this day.:).

My dad bought a 427 cobra in 1972 with a dent in the quarter panel for $3500, had it fixed was in it for $5000 then sold it for $10,000 a few years later and thought he made a killing. Woops!

Strangely enough my mom drove a Cobra until she totalled it back in the late 60s...if she had only kept her eye on the road I'd be sittin happy in a blue and white SC today
