I think what I'd like to find is list of all the colors that the F1 car was for all the years and say if I was buying a 1999 Ferrari, I would find what the F1 color was that year and get a 99 in that color. Does anyone know where I could find a list like that, showing the colors that the Ferrari F1 car was throughout the years?

    Thanks,
    John

I concur with previous posters. There is no official Ferrari color, I think red is as close as it gets, however I understand that the number of red cars climbed dramatically after magnum pi. Maybe, and I could be wrong Rosso Cina (sp?) was the classic ferrari red. I know that Rosso Corsa has beeen the classic for many years, but I also know there were several different shades and paint codes for that. So, short story long i more than ever agree w/ "blur" as the official color

This is correct, and when Marlboro cigarettes became a sponsor to Ferrari, Ferrari changed its color to match that color of Marlboro's which then became the Rosso corsa.

As far as I know, you can't have a car liveried in the same exact F1 color until the following year. So, say you wanted a 599 painted in this year's F1 car paint - you'd have to wait until next year.

As for the original question, red is Ferrari's official color. Ferrari is a race team first and foremost; and as an Italian race team, their official color is red. Everything they do; everything they make, everything they sell, everything they license, is a concerted effort to make as much money as possible, to put back into the race team. So the answer is red. Red, red, red.

With all due respect to Carbon and his knowledge and experience, when I toured the factory, they told us - *AS PART OF THE TOUR* - that *YELLOW* is the "Official" color of Ferrari - because, as noted, it was the color of Modena, where Enzo founded his company. Red is the Italian national racing color.

I know many will probably disagree - but since it's what they told us during the factory tour, I have to go with it.

Since the current color is due to how it looks on TV, and how that matches Marlborough's shade, I wonder if the car was painted differently for the Singapore race.

I find this very interesting. Yellow is indeed the color of the city of Modena. And that's where Ferrari started, before the company moved to Maranello. And that's why the Scuderia's emblem has a yellow background. Because of what I said earlier, I always thought red was Ferrari's official color. But if they told you on the tour that it's yellow, then I'm interested in learning more about that.

When I watched the race, I thought the color looked different as well.

In my limited experience I have been told on many occasions that the official Ferrari colour is yellow as per post by NNo

Many times due to light and voltage changes a high def camera can slightly alter the original hues.

So I would not judge colors based upon what you saw then.

I'd find some still photos of the same in various magazines to see the coloration.

Yellow is the official color of Ferrari.

Red is the international racing color of Italy.
    Silver for Germany.
    Green for the UK.
Blue and white for the US.
