Fathers dad from Finland but came here as a child and fought with 10th mountain in WW2. Dads mother is English i believe. So i hate doing this but for the purpose of the thread its, 50% Ukrainian, 25% Finn, and 25% English. I was born in Texas thank god though so I just say I am Texan...
No need to get into the differences between "nationality," "ethnicity," "heritage," "ancestry," "race," etc. I would assume by his own answers that the original poster intended to ask something along the lines of, "Where did your ancestors originate?"
Strangely here in Oz, Im classed as an Italian but when I go visit my relatives in Italy they called me American
The largest part I can identify is German. I know there is also some Irish, and after that I have no clue really.
Sorry to disagree, but Nationality is what your passport says it is; Heritage, Ancestry and race is what you believe it is or what you want it to be. At least this is according to the Webster.
