Booked my room. Jim, sent paypal payment.
YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I just looked at your profile, AWESOME GTB, BTW!!!!!) Look out for an Email this week outlining the itinerary for the event to all who have registered. It will give specific times/places, etc... JIM
Hey, I noticed that the link to the hotel gave a thurs-sun rate, and that's what I signed up for Anyone else going to be the Thurs, or should I change the arrival date?
Hey, I'll be there thursday along with Joe from Ocean Springs MS. Don't worry Tillman we plan on winning lots of money from the texas boys early! Seriously look me up when you arrive ask for Larry Fletcher or try my cell 251-421-1377 I look foward to meeting you and buying you a beer. Larry
This is going to be a great weekend! Here is how it breaks down for those watching: Greetings! First, thanks for registering for this “308’s in ‘08” weekend! This should be a great weekend of Ferraris, food, gambling and fun! I wanted to give you guys the itinerary for the weekend of events. If you have any questions, please give me a call or email. When you arrive you will be directed to the Hospitality room where you will sign the Event Book and receive your bag with goodies.  Friday: Tech Session: I need to check to make sure that everyone who has registered can make it in by 3pm. We would like to leave Harrah’s by 3:30 to make sure that we don’t run into any traffic as we caravan into the Memphis area. The drive will be approx 1hr to get to Xtreme Auto from the Casino. Here is their contact info. 7555 US Highway 64 #103 Memphis, TN 38133 Phone 901.377.0027 Fax 901.377.0814 The Tech session will start at approx 5pm and last about 1.5hrs. We are fortunate enough to have Ric Rainbolt giving an overview of the 308 trouble spots. If you don’t know Ric or his contribution to the 308 brotherhood, do an archive search on FChat and FList. We are very lucky to have his expertise! Joining Ric in this talk will be Larry Fletcher, owner of CIS Flowtech. Larry’s expertise is in the fuel distribution systems of the injected 308’s. He will be talking on the fuel distribution systems and the infamous “Hot Start” issues that plagues the early injected cars. Make sure you take a moment to thank Ric and Larry for graciously donating their time and expertise to educate us on our cars. Also, be sure to thank Tommy Black for graciously opening the doors to his shop to accommodate us. I for one am very grateful as this is a 100% donation on his end! Dinner: Following the tech session will be a dinner at Paula Deen’s Restaurant at the Casino. We have an 8pm reservation for those who have signed up for it. If you did not sign up and you wish to join us, please contact me. Saturday: Car Show: The car show will run from 10am to 4pm in the North parking lot at the Casino. This is where we will be parking our cars on Thurs/Fri/Sat, so it will be easy to spot. Most of us will already be parked there.  The Ferraris will be parked along the landscaped berm that runs along the entrance drive. You will be directed where to park then. If you are planning on staying up all night gambling and wont’ make the show, please get me your keys so I can move your Ferrari so it can be on display. Remember that this portion of the weekend goes to benenfit Habitat for Humanity. I want to make sure that every Ferrari is parked in a group so we can have a nice display for the public. F1 Viewing Party: We have a reservation at “Replay’s” Sports Bar at the casino for the F1 race on Saturday night. I believe it starts at 11pm CST, so be there early. Drinks/food are on your own. Sunday: Sunday is still somewhat up in the air. We are trying to negotiate some final items with Harrah’s, one of which would be a breakfast. If we are unable to get this accomplished, then we will meet as a group for breakfast (pay as you go) and we can plan our departures/say our goodbyes. JIM
Just remember....Demand proof, deny everything and have witnesses. "Honey, the guy in the photo just happens to look a little like me!" What Happens in Tunica.....? well..you know the rest! lol
We have 5 days until this event. I want to thank everyone who has registered so far and I'm looking very forward to meeting each and every one of you! We are going to have a great weekend!! As you can see by the itinerary there will be PLENTY to do and that does not even account for the gambling/spa/skeet/golf that is available. I've spent the weekend getting my GT4 ready for the 622 mile trip. See you there!!!!!!!!!!!!! JIM
Jim, I'll be headed out on Thursday arriving at the Stuckey's at Hwy49 and I59 in Hattiesburg around 1-1:30pm for anyone wanting to join up? Then Hwy 49 to Jackson then Tunica. Im not sure what time I'll arrive but hopefully a few hours before dark? The weather looks good right now. We have a weak front moving through the state on Tuesday but Thursday looks like lots of sunshine. I'm assuming the Casino will have someone available to help us secure the cars? I would suggest we set a time and place in the casino for those arriving Thrusday night to meet? For anyone who needs it my cell number is 228-297-2403. On another note, I just got in from taking the car for a quick turn around the coast. "Cruising the coast" started today and they have 4000 cars registered. The big weekend is next weekend. Today I saw lots of muscle cars, 50's, 60's and 70's hotrods. Lots of reving engines and burnouts. A few hundred people sitting roadside in lawnchairs up and down the coast judging cars as they pass with signs. The most interesting thing I saw today was a Prowler. See you guys in a couple of days. Joe
Joe, I've been watching the weather pattern for the past week. It looks like the weekend should be great <knock on wood> I expect that I'll arrive between 2 and 4 on Thursday. I'm going to leave around 4am so I miss any traffic in Indy. My cell is: 574-320-7360. See you there! JIM
Jim If you still need someone to house sit in the Hospitality room when everyone goes to the Tech Session Carolyn and I will be available Doug
Just FYI If you're driving your Ferrari to Tunica, are subscribed to Fchat and don't currently have access to the Owner's Forum, find me at the meet and show me your car. I am sort of an unofficial pseudomod, and can get ya access once I see your car, you, and know your username. Just another benefit Y'all sign up, now... (or, of course, MikeC, who is a -real- mod)
Thank you for asking! I was supposed to have posted this over the weekend...DOH! EVERYTHING IS PRETTY MUCH CASUAL. I am a jeans and Polo kind of guy as well. Dinner Friday is casual. Whatever you are comfortable in, that will be fine. JIM
just a suggestion; perhaps we could do a key swap. everyone puts their key in a bowl and you pull another out and take it for a spin around the property with the owner.. it may be nice to drive a car other than your own. i've never even rode in another ferrari.
Great idea. The N. Parking lot where we will be is 187,000 sq. ft. Plenty of space to drive around. If nobody else goes for it, I'll trade ya keys! JIM
I might -- but people would be disappointed in the high mile beater. You'd be on the losing end of the trade...
Great, count me in. It's nice to know if yours is like the others, most of us don't have much reference for compairison. Larry Fletcher
Guys, enjoy this event! Wish I could go with my GTB, but will try for the next one. Have a great Time! 308's rule. Mike.
Having just returned from the Singapore F1, I don't have enough brownie points left with the S/O to attend this So will somebody *please* tape the exhaust sounds between carbs & FI.....Tubi, Larini, Stebro, stock, etc ??? Thanks in advance.
I don't know if I'll have anything to tape with but one of my goals is to hear the different exhaust and decide on what I want to do. I still have the factory 55gal drum under mine and I want to change to something with a little more "umph" but not too much on the eardrums either. It will be a great asset to be able to compare exhaust sounds side by side. Worth the trip by itself! Joe
