I got some for my 1978 308 and they don't work. I think I know why though: When at rest (not touching the switch) the motor has +12V at both wires. If you touch the switch it grounds either wire and makes the window move. I think the power window booster assumes 0V or ground on both connectors when at rest. Am I right?

If so, is there a way I can rearrange my switch so that it is 0V at rest and the booster will work?

Hi, sorry to here that the boosters don't work, I will add your car to the list, can you contact me via email so I can arrange a refund for you, I have a new website that will be up in the next week and it has a compatibility section where it runs you through a series of test that you can do to prove compatibility before purchase, Yes the module was designed with both wires assumed negative, its only since other people have offered to test them on other models than the 348 ( which I originally designed it for ) that this has come to light. This will be the 2nd car found to have 2x positive wires. I have thought about the wiring and what you can do so give me a shout and I will tell you about an idea I have to help you out. Regards Frazer

This is Frazer's cool new updated webpage for his window booster kits. :)

    www.ferrariwindow.com

The new layout is cool and easy to use. It has a list of compatible Ferrari models for his booster kits, so you know for sure they will work in your Ferrari before you buy. Customer recommendations is cool also. ;);) Easy to order online. All in all, a champion effort Frazer! :)

BTW..............I am still loving my 'quick' windows in my 348! Still working fast and fantastic. Thanks again mate. Cheers. :)

I don't know, it sounds wrong now!! , any ideas guys? of shall I just leave it as it was? I think most people assume Ferrari's aren't slow

Sales have stoped now for the last 18 months so i assume all the people that need them are sorted, i only ship to our friend Daniel at Ricambia every couple of months. He have been very good to me. There was a guy that coppied my module and even my discription for compatibility and was selling them on ebay, this might have helped the flow to slow, has any body seen them on ebay recently? i cant look :(

I have not managed to find a solution for the negitive switch cars so sadly i think thats all i can do for them. there has only been 4 or 5 cars that have not worked after shipment so thats no too bad. I am proud that there is happy ferraris running about with my boosters installed.

    Frazer,

I did not read this whole thread.. but I would guess that I am one of the 4 or 5 cars you mention.. or am I # 6? Believe I bought a set of the first run of your boxes and my windows remain slow. Sorry.

I believe the cause of slow windows is friction. The way to reduce friction would be to disassemble the door/window internals and clean and lubricate all applicable points "dragging". I tried the magic boxes and didn't notice any improvement. You can hear the motor really laboring as the window goes s l o w l y up.......

On my 78 308GTS, the biggest improvement I found was to use silicone spray lubricant on all the window felts and tracks. If I did this every 6 months, the windows worked reasonably fast. Without, they were agonizingly slow.

Definitely still work in my 348, my windows barely move without them fitted.

I had to play with them the other day, the left one stopped working from a bad connection after not being used for 4 years lol, but it's working again and working well.

I might lube the window channels anyway, will be the first time in 18 years that I will do that, but will give it a go.
