Just in case anyone is interested in what has occured since selling my 308 here's a brief update. The car was sold to a local buyer and at that time I agreed to complete the car for him. In addition he wanted to make some changes i.e. freshen the paint, re-do the entire interior, new wheels and tires and any mechanical work that it needed. Since purchasing the car I did most of the critical things we concentrated on suspension and electrical. The car is now coming back together and we hope to be done in 30-45 days. Attached are some pictures of where we have been. It starts with my last drive and then off for paint up to yesterday when we started to dry fit the new center console. Lot's of details to attend to but so far...so good.

Thanks...and trust me...with mostly Hillbilly subs it's a challenge. I am forced to do a lot of the final finish work myself.

What happen to those sloted holes on the center console for the lever that controls the temp?

Looks great! Please post some pics of the interior when done. Who did you end up getting the interior from? Also, I'm curious if you got your slow window fix done. Mine is still waiting for me to find the 3 -4 hours (hopefully) for me to reassemble. In the meantime I've found that a 2" x 2" x 8" piece of wood works well propping the lower edge of the glass in many positions from almost full up to early down. Talk about fast windows! It drops like a stone when you remove the prop (got a big bath towell in there to cushion it if the prop slips). Maybe this weekend..........

Nice work! When you painted the car ... did you go all the way to bare metal/ prime/ paint? Loosk like you di dnot have to go that deep ... I'm curious. Again, respect for taking on the job!

No, not much in the way of rust. We were going to re-skin the lower doors but they were able to patch in metal due to minimal problems there. Otherwise we had all dings, etc removed, stripped the front spoiler and lower rear sections and blocked out the entire body. It was a spray over at that point with a base coat/clear coat, wet sand and polish. Still not yet fully done with orange peal in a few spots that were missed so I may do the final work myself [being so anal and all].

As a side note we decided to get the engine cover [louvers], grillage and heat shield powder coated in a satin black...it looks much better than original IMO. This is in the pictures I posted.

Wait until you finish the inside, it will look so unbelievably good you won't even want to sit in it. I swear you'll find yourself just stairing at it.

    Looks great so far!!!

    Really nice.
Good photographic job, useful to see parts that we will dismantle for sure to restore the car. I liked to do it on my car too, but we will see. Step by step, because I want to drive her also...

    One chalk up to you!

Even with the big mess in the cockpit that one center console is making it smell like a leather factory...I think I may overdose when it's all in there ;)
