    Dont laugh, the last depression wast the start of Adolf's world tour, and helped pull the US economy out of the doldrums.
    A war gives the population a purpose and focus, and takes their mind off the day to day troubles.

    The problem is that wars today are so "efficient", just press a few buttons and it's all over, (Globally), so that won't help the economy either.

    This is why I keep saying the world needs a new space race. Think of the 1960s. In the midst of the chaos of social unrest and the Vietnam War, it gave people something to feel proud of. To draw inspiration and hope from, to get the imagination going.
