very cool guy and very cool toy... http://www.repubblica.it/2006/05/gallerie/cronaca/multa-lapo/7.html
What the hell happened to him? I thought he was supposed to be the most impeccably groomed man this side of Cary Grant?
Because he has his Ferrari's and Maserati's custom painted? Doesn't sound like a problem to me, he's enjoying his cars. Is that 599 painted in a Lambo color (celeste pheobe?). Just noticed the centre caps...
The problem isn't if you customize a super car but how you do it. His grandfather (Mr.Gianni Agnelli ) owned the the most gorgeous one off Ferrari and Maserati ever built. He simply owns the ugliest ones . Have you never seen his Lamborghini Gallardo ? Body in military grey , interiors in mimetic colours , matt black rims and brown chocolate brake calipers.... I strongly hope he's enjoying his cars .
Looks like red, white and green on the centers. Not everyone is happy with a simple red Ferrari. Obviously an owner who gets what HE wants and doesn't spec his Ferrari to suit the opinion of others... CH
When you OWN Ferrari and Maserati (as in the companies, not just the cars) I guess that an "ordinary" 599 just won't do. While I totally disagree with Lapo's horrid color schemes, I understand where he's coming from. However, were I in his position, if I wanted to differentiate myself from the "unwashed mass" of plebeian F599 owners I would rather have called up my buddies at Pininfarina or at Giugiaro and asked them to design a bespoke one-off for me, as our friend Napolis did with his gorgeous P4/5, and as Lapo's own grandfather Giovanni used to do. Giovanni Agnelli had real style and elegant taste - I remember his one-off silver Testarossa convertible, and back in the '60s he even had a Maserati 5000GT built with a one-off bodywork without any Maserati badges (in those days Maserati was the enemy, the owner of Fiat could not be seen driving one of those...). Now, Giovanni was a man with great taste. I guess the "good taste" gene hasn't made it through to Lapo.
Lapo has been involved in a bad story of drug and transexuals in an ugly apartment in Turin , under the eyes of all media . His grandfather would meet in his fabulous Park Avenue flat , movie chicks like Nicole Kidman or Michelle Pfeiffer in total secrecy ... That is the difference Ciao ANdrea
But this is not the mistake of Signore Elkan! In our days every C-celebrety can show up on front page. So what do you expect? Secrecy from the media???? Ciao! Walter
I mean that the grandfather did everything he wanted in total secrecy (thanks to his staff ) and with the utmost of elegance and understatement . That is the difference with his nephew . His cars are an obvious example. Ciao Andrea
And why would this be any of our business to discuss? (Not meant as provocatively as it sounds) EDIT: What I mean by it - what does his choice of company have to do with his cars?
