I think in 1953, Giannino Marzotto won the Mille Miglia with Marco Crosara. The winning 340MM Spider serial number is 0280AM... Are you sure this is the right photograph because apparently the race number of the car is 547...

This is the modern picture of the winning car...

I'm not a photographer. I am much interested in these Ferrari in the 50's, I have some photos.

Just a small typographical error, it is 1954.

In 1953, there isn't 375 MM. Paolo Marzotto is a victim of a fire with the 250 MM (0254MM).

    Hi Boudewijn and others,

I sent you an email for the Targa Florio 1956, it's quite difficult.

I've found some pictures of my collection.

0286AM at Carrera Panamericana 1954 with Phil Hill and Richie Ginther.

There's an excellent forum on the Targa Florio (lots of pics) here... http://www.forum-auto.com/sport-auto/theme40/sujet378358.htm

    It's in French and Italian...

I know this topic: Good for Targa (photo) but for Ferrari, it isn't their field.

There are mistakes, but lots of Ferrari period photos in there... Lots of GTO's, 250LM, TestaRossa's, Dinos and even Jim Glickenhaus 0846 in P3 shape (66) and P4 (67). Worth the look..

I love this picture (Tom driving his 375MM in the rain)! Rumor has it that you drive your cars, and this picture is an outstanding testament. Good job!

With Tom's blessing, being an extremely gracious host, I took a boat-load of pictures of his car at Meadowbrook this past summer. I was heart-broken when I got home and discovered that I had somehow changed the color-balance setting, and all the "daylight" pictures were blue! At least the multitude of detail shots were salvagable.

The whole album can be seen at: http://www.rfdm.com/gallery/album116 These are all high resolution images, so once you open a picture, click on it again to see the HR version.

Thanks Tom, I still get goose-bumps when I think about how that engine sounds (my wife was concerned I was getting heart palpatations when you drove up to the judges stand).

    Hi Randy.

By tweaking the color balance in Photoshop, you can salvage your pics...

Here's one corrected that way... (of course I did that quickly, but with a little patience...)

I judged that one at the FCA National in Elkhart Lake in about 1982. It had just finished restoration. In the b&w photos it is not apparent that the interior was avacado green leather.

It's possible that it was light tan at the time of these photos, green later.

I remember it as been just finished restoration at that time and looked superb as a car and a restoration. It won its class.

Was the National before or after the Joe Marchetti picnic?

At the same National meet Bob Bodin brought his pontoon TR Lucybelle II; should have seen the judging sheet. Chuck Jordan was the sole judge and he had detail comments everywhere; Bodin was impressed that Chuck caught an error in the exhaust tips that no one was supposed to notice.
