Just wanted to say hi. I'm a new member from the North VA area. I have a 1980 308 GTSI and have owned it for the past ten years. It just came out of major service and I decided I better join a forum of enthusiasts to share some info and hopefully save a little money. I'm currently very active in the Mercedes Forums as I have ten Mercedes not to mention a semi classic Jaguar. Anyway, looks like a great forum and I look forward to interacting with all of you.

Nice collection, thanks for sharing some photos. Even after all these years I still like the MB SEL of the 1980s. Hope to see more photos of your 308 soon.
    Best regards,
    Dino

You need the ultimate sleeper, 500E/E500. 300E chassis with the big V-8! I think at least 1 FChatter has one. I've always wanted one.

I'm in NoVA as well. Looks like a nice collection although I have to say I'm glad you don't live on my street because it looks like you would consume far more than your fair share of the available parking.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in Sterling and also own a home in Diamondhead, MS. The Mercedes collection somewhat rotates. The red 380SL has been replaced with a grey 560SL.

On a Ferrari note, I took the 308 on a run to Winchester and back yesterday. First run since the major service I mentioned yesterday. Ferrari of Washington did the service and had the car for ten weeks! When I went to pick up the car, the leather was gouged up and the rear view mirror was sitting on the passenger seat. They did make it right. As I was backing out of the service bay, the car ran out of gas. I took it to them with about a quarter tank and of course I expected them to road test it, but not run it dry. Thank God it didn't run out on 28 on a Friday afternoon.

That said, do you guys know of a good indie in the area? Every time I've taken the car to this dealer, they have broken something. The time before, it was my gear shift knob and they refused to replace it. I had to put a rag on the shifter to get it home. I really don't want to do business with them anymore if possible.

Welcome Powerpig; it's good to see someone who knows fine cars. I love your Jag; sold my 1953 XK-120 Super Sports a few years ago after owning it for 33 years. The 1998 E320 (dark blue) we have had for 10 years and I have played with the 308 for 25 years. Life is good! (No, my garage isn't two cars deep, but I have a lift to store the 308 and Corvette in one side.

Sterling, that's where I am as well! based upon your pictures I am guessing Sugarland Run. I have been happy with FoW but, there is a place called Competizione up in Gaithersburg that many people swear by. You should check out the Mid-Atlantic Region forum here.
