Luis-you nailed it, especially with Kubica's comments on LH. I was taken aback with RK's comments. However, you forgot that apparently Button is also on LH's side seeing as how he drove wide on FM-nothing wrong with fighting for position-but then layed down the red carpet for LH......

Exactly. It's a nice offer, but Massa has it covered in other ways.

I'm sure Hamilton counts that assistance as "sweet FA". ;)

he wouldn't know if his a$$ was on fire :p

    how ya been Julio ?

I've been backing your boy the last couple of races and I think he might do it in China , well I think he'll be leading, size up the points at the end and either let Massa through or take out Hamilton, whichever suits his personal view.

He dislikes Hamilton .... it's a BIG fan club

there's only this tiny island of whiners that want him to win :)

    can you spell C H O K E R ????

Stupid comment by Alonso. Next few races coming up if he has any altercations with Hamilton regardless of fault, the good folks in race control will be thinking of this!
Not the kind of loudmouth any owner wants

Dave-At Monza he almost pushed off Glock, banged wheels with Weber and he almost took off Alonso's front spoiler. Mario Andretti used to talk about trusting a driver you race with and feeling comfortable racing around him-clearly no one feels comfortable racing with LH, even Kubica....

Jenson isn't usually close enough to Felipe to be of any use to Lewis...:)

similar to the one Lewis pushed last season to keep him just out of the points enough so Kimi would win the WDC. ;)

IMO it's not about whether he pissed people off or not.... Alonso is a Renault driver. It's one thing to say his preference would be for Massa to win, but for him to say he will help Massa if he can is just inappropriate. I'd think Flavio would be furious. It's just one of those things one shouldn't do as an F1 driver. Then again, Alonso has never been very smart with his words.

I also think it may backfire if he's trying to ingratiate himself to Luca.

I think Alonso will do nothing outside of the rules or even close to it to help Massa. He is only shooting off his mouth and playing the mind game thing with Lewis.

He's just trying to make Lewis sweat, nothing else. He'd say the same thing if it was Kubica in Massa's place.

Dennis wishes for a more 'prudent' Hamilton
    Monday 13th October 2008 - PlanetF1.com

McLaren chief Ron Dennis has, for the first time in Lewis Hamilton's 20-month F1 career, publicly acknowledged misgivings with the driving of his protege.

While still unhappy with the stewards' decision to penalise Hamilton for his hot-headed attempt to pass Kimi Raikkonen into the first corner of the Japanese GP, a ruling that the McLaren team as a whole are understood to regard as 'absurd', Dennis has acknowledged that Hamilton's decision-making on the opening lap was mistaken.

"Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, it would have been nice if Lewis had been a little bit more prudent in the first corner," he acknowledged. "Yes, he could have been a bit more mindful of the situation. Some of the things he does leave us in awe of him. The simple fact is he is a great driver and we are going to fight for the World Championship, but it's sometimes a bit of an uphill struggle."

While the comments are not especially critical, they do represent a marked departure from Dennis' policy of refusing to provide any sort of censure of his drivers in public. Nonetheless, having stressed the need for his drivers to act with care during the opening laps of the race, and even specifically assured reporters on Saturday night that Hamilton wouldn't challenge Raikkonen for the lead of the race into the first corner if he was out-paced off the line, the McLaren boss is entitled to feel exasperated with the 23-year-old's recklessness into the first corner. Aside from only narrowly avoiding a collision with both Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen, Hamilton wrecked his tyres in the process - something which was surely a factor in his McLaren slithering off the track into turn two.

"Lewis is a racing driver. That's what makes him the driver he is. He is going to fight for positions at every opportunity. You are not going to stop him doing that," Dennis reflected.

Alonso won't have to do anything except maybe get infront of Lewis for Lewis to self destruct. Like he did last year, and like he did this past race. It seems as though if either of the Ferrari's gets infront of him, or Alonso gets infront of him, or maybe even Kubica gets infront of him, he will put himself off into the grass trying to get his position back, even if he doesn't need to.

why would Flavio be angry 1st of all? if i were Flavio, i would be worrying and focusing on the rest of the season, as well as next season, and not paying attention to Fred's comments. after all, it's not to say Renault are in the title chase or something.
