I'm considering one as a daily driver. Anyone have one? If so, please fill me in on your experiences. Thanks
My brother has a 2006 FX35. Nice daily driver, so-so mileage, but he's getting rid of it when his lease is up in a month. The problem? Bad A/C problems. The FXs (and potentially other Infinitis, but I'm not 100% on that) have a design flaw where the condensation from the A/C unit does not have anywhere to drain. So the water pools and mold grows, and then blows in your face the next time you're in the car. He's already had his A/C replaced once under warranty. Infiniti knows about the problem (hence why they replaced his A/C) but there are currently no fixes. EDIT: This is not an isolated incident. Search the web for "Infiniti mold" and you'll see many others having the same problem.
It's a nice looking (subjective, I know), nice driving, relatively inexpensive car. Why not (aside from the A/C issue, it's a fine car. My brother was going to get another one before that issue came up).
I have a 2005 FX35 and so far no problems. This is the first time i hear about any issues with the A/C. I always see the A/C condensation drain right after I park it. I have had it since Nov 2005 and driven it 73K miles. So far i am happy with it and have no issues to complain about.
It's still a so called 'crossover', which is basically an SUV that only seats five. Why not get the Infiniti G35 Sport sedan ? It's less expensive, it's fast and more fun to drive and can be had with a 6mt...seats five just like the FX45. http://build.infiniti.com/configurator_infiniti/app?service=external/EnterZipCode&mo=2008:g&tr=_TE_SPTM&bs=g35&backTo=/configurator_infiniti/app%3Fservice%3Dexternal/SelectColor%26mo%3D2008%3Ag%26bs%3Dg35%26tr%3D_TE_SPTM
I need to be able to tow my boat, and also, I frequently need the ability to carry tools and such. The G35 is not an option.
I would go with the FX35. I owned an '06 M35, and that VQ engine is a dream. Not only that, but should you get the itch for mega-power, a twin turbo kit is only $6k away (putting you above the FX45 for cheap).
In fact, YES. I already have a Ferrari, and a motorcycle. So, I don't want to buy another vehicle just to pull the boat. And, if I want to be able to pull the boat with my daily driver, what business is it of yours?
So what? Buy what you want (Lord knows you've had enough threads about your various searches to replace your M5) and others will do the same.

You're the one who started this thread inquiring as to others experiences. And my experience has been that most people who are sporty car guys like me...and you do indicate you own a Ferrari...often grow weary driving an SUV type vehicle as a daily driver...why not rent one for a month to see if you can live with such a vehicle on a daily basis...
please refer to your previous post. The "what business is it of yours" refers to me needing to use my daily driver to pull a boat. This will be my last reply to you. Arguing on the net is like competing in the Special Olympics: you might win, but you're still retarded.
Bought when they first came out in '03 (considered Cayenne, but went for FX45 for a little less $$$). As a crossover, its a little cramped -- you'd be hard pressed to fit 5 adults comfortably. And, luggage space...well...let's just say my parents' Camry fits more stuff in it. But, since its wide and low (huge tires), you can drive it pretty hard which makes for some fun. V8 hogs gas, and requires premium. I've been told V6 in FX35 can run on mid-grade (perhaps a little less performance, but no issues). I hope they've improved the interior over the years. My model year is very plasticky. come with lots of electronic bells and whistles, which to my surprise, none have failed yet (good thing too because I'm out of warranty). Haven't experienced the AC mold issue. We are looking to replace it by end of year with something else. Looking at new Mazda CX9 or Acura MDX, or perhaps a previously owned Audi Q7 or MB GL450. With two kids and g'parents, we decided we need a third row. BTW, its my wife's car. My daily driver is a Nissan Xterra. Why? Well as much as I love sports cars, I do appreciate something I can throw crap in without having to worry about dirt / mud, scratches, sweat, etc. And, I don't mind taking it to the local car wash and spending the $9 to get it cleaned. No worries...
