I am flattered... more on this below... Thx... duct tape and briquetts... LOL!! dont know how good it would be, but admittedly SOMETHING would be drawn... its in my blood... can't stop... I would LOVE to do you a drawing.. i'll PM you to find out more details. I look forward to doing something for you.... Blue TR. noted. Thx for the kind words... yeah... everyone else here just has phonenumbers, or dates or something. This is definitly off the wall. (or is that ON the wall...) Thx everyone... i'll keep you posted on the next one... GT
Thank you... i enjoy it alot... I LOVE Illustrator... work with it and Photoshop allllllll day long. Here is one of my faves done with AI. I won "Best Computer Graphic at our Toronto International Car Show back in 2002 with this one... thx GT Image Unavailable, Please Login
WOW. I livened up this thread to see what you have done recently on your whiteboard.. didnt expect to see THAT. At first I thought: alot of black markers were used to make that one... LOL It looks different than the one on your website. Maybe its just the white background here at FChat... or my bad monitor. Colours look different. Is it just the size of the jpg? Its AMAZING nonetheless. As for the board.. any progress? dont keep us waiting much longer!! c'mon Grant... you've lived up to your screenname countless times over... don't start keeping us in the dark now. LOL F.
Thanks Frank.. started the next one today... maybe get some pics of the beginnings of it... do a step-by-step thing... people seem to like that... trying to live up to my screenname... between a full-time job and the house and other things... sometimes there are not enough hours in the day.... got all these ideas for paintings in my head and trying to get them realized in the trick. Got a couple more metal-works done with Thor... they should be online real soon... I've noticed alot of art-threads being started... Carsten continues to amaze, Lukas and now some more... everyone with their own style and techniques. It would be cool to have a "all-of-us-do-a-308" thing and see what gets done. If there were 5 artists, there would be 5 TOTALLY different renderings/paintings/drawings... the same car interpreted 5 different ways, but all portraying the beauty/speed/power of a Ferrari. As for the Illustrator image above... That is the same image as on my site... AI is a GREAT program. Very well thought out.... Thanks again Frank... and stay tuned... GT
that is intruiging... i wonder how it ended up there... no-one asked me. Picture of the Day eh? kinda cool... GT
Hi Grant..... Very Cool "picture of the day"! Try ask Richard Owen who is a moderator at ************* how it got there......I should have his email adress somewhere....let me look for it, and if I find it I will pm you shortly!! They ought to have asked your permission!!! Best regards Carsten
Thx.. LOL.. i'll have to remember to crop that out next time... or more likely, move it out of the picture.. Thank goodness the numbers arent readable... GT
Just stumbled on this thread... liked your whiteboard 308 pic so much I decided to play with it and clean up the photo of your drawing a bit... Image Unavailable, Please Login
thought i'd bring this thread back from the depths and show y'all whats up now... had some other non-automotive stuff for a while (pet requests and things...) but finally returned to F-cars. the 59TR from the FCA meet this past summer. a full 44" long... the black was wearing out towards the end... thanks for all the kind words!! i didnt take shots of most of them, but i did get one of a yorkshire terrier i drew, since we own one as well. I'll dig it up and post it. thx again... GT
we need a dedicated thread for Fcar artwork/drawing/painting. I don't think we already have that do we? If not, I will vote for you to start it and to display your work. Absolutely awesome. Do you also do your work on canvas or non-erase whiteboard? Something (anything) more permanent? REALLY IMPRESSED. Can't wait to see more. (I am sitting on the very edge of the couch) Mbrown
att. is the yorkie pic (admittedly it ended up looking more like ours... ) I usually do my work on paper (watercolour) or canvas (acrylic or oil) check out my profile for a couple of watercolours. i have a current thread documenting my greeting card artwork (ink sometimes with watercolour) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=206338 and from the past i have these: Oil painting of Massa http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187495 oil painting of Kimi http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183776 Watercolour of 360 Spider (the second in the "Reflections" series) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173201 oil painting of 250GT California interior http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164025 i just finished another canvas and "cut metal" piece of a Sharknose Ferrari which i will post very soon. Also 99% finished is another "Reflections" piece of a f430. So stay tuned ... more to come! havent created a single thread for everything... i will give it some thought... Grant, I think that everyone has some kind of a medium through they can artistically express themselves; saxophone, charcoal drawings, crochet, paper mache, etc. But you seem to be able to express yourself through so many mediums. It's really very impressive. The last one - the 59 TR - just blows me away. I had a few months of 20-hour work days last year and took to the whiteboard in times of relief - but mine was random doodling (and a bit of OCD - see below), whereas yours is an uncanny grasp of beauty no matter medium is in your hands. I hope you'll continue this thread; and I hope you're taking pictures of this work for your portfolio. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow.. that must have taken a bit of... whats the word?... hmmmmmm... oh yeah.. time. Thanks for your comments. Back during my Illustration courses i took in college the key word they kept repeating was: "Versatile. You can have your specialty but you gotta be versatile." I tried to remain that. While my job doesnt exactly forward that idiom, at least outside of the computer aided design world, i have made an effort to keep up the skills at home. And try to add to them... the metal work and oil painting being the latest. thx again... i think i will start a thread that just centres around the latest major works. I will continue with this one for the whiteboard art and the greeting card thread, since i dont consider those "major works". Got a couple almost ready to present... GT
