As much as I have insisted upon reasearch this is a euro spec car. I can not get any lights to come on when I flip the fog lamp switch.

Well now I know it is euro spec but still no fog lamps. I am not getting an signal to trigger the relay for the fogs. I have power on 86 and 87 of the relay but it cant get it to switch. If I ground terminal 1 in plug I on the front fuse panel the relay clicks but still no lights. EEERRR!!!!

Well I figured out why the rear for lamps didnt work. Someone cut the wires and rewired them in a weird way. I have fixed them but still no front fogs.

Because there are no fog lamps. These are high beam flashers and the only way to set them under current is to pull the lever (left from steering wheel)

Okay I would totally buy that if I diddnt have two fog lamp fuses and a fog lamp relay in the front fuse panel. I removed the fuses and the relay and the rear fogs still come on. So leads me to believe those components have a purpose.

Both systems are written in your manual - fog and high beam (daylight flashers) - although you can have only one these systems mounted in your front bumper.
Confusing if the pre-owner modded wires.
Have a look on your bumper first to identify the hardware, maybe he swapped the lights too. (?)

I had a similar problem when I first received my 355. I only had one of the fog lights functioning. I went through all of the same power searching solutions. I traced power from fuse to switch, to not find power at the problematic fog light. Then I noticed the side marker light on the side of the front bumper would illuminate with the fog light switch and NOT with the park light switch. I dug as far as I could to get the side marker light disconnected only to find that the connector matched the fog light connection that is in the wiring up from the fog light connector.
I found that when the front bumper cover was removed for repainting. The connection for my LH fog light was mis-connected so power was being applied to the side marker light. Once I switch the two connectors, all has been fine.
Enjoy the thrill of finding and correcting the problem and taking an f-car back to Ferrari status again.

Once again, FChat is *awesome*.
Had my front resprayed about 3 weeks ago. Tonight was the first time I had it out after dark since then. Noticed that my fog lights were *always* on (if the headlights were on) and that my console fog switch was not functioning to control them.
Found this old thread and, sure enough, went out to test. No light to my front side markers when the lights are on, but if I hit the fog switch, my side markers illuminate. Looks like the body shop ran the side marker power to the fogs (and vice versa) on both sides. Time to swap them tomorrow.

Thanks again guys. This community always seems to have the answers. ;)

As a final follow up on this, since many of these threads get abandoned without it and someone might need this in the future...

The plug swap did the trick.
To do the swap between fog light and side marker you just remove the front undertray corner panel(s) (#4 here: Ricambi - 355 - Table 107 - BODY - SHIELD AND WHEELHOUSES). 6 phillips-head screws total on each.
The plugs are swapped right at each light housing. The fogs are easy to disconnect/reconnect, but the side markers are a bit of a reach, especially the driver's side (US) as the siren and washer fluid container block your way. Luckily it's easily done by feel and the plugs are "keyed" so they are easy to get in the correct orientation.
Just unplug each light and swap the plug to the other.
Don't forget to test before you put the undertray cover back on! :)

It's funny that the body shop got it wrong, as the correct side marker wiring is *much* longer and an easier reach to that location. When they were installed incorrectly mine were pulled taught since they barely reached, while the fogs had plenty of slack. Seems like this would have been an indicator to the guy reassembling them that he had them swapped.
