I´ve recently sold my precious 308 GTB and I´m now looking for a 328. I found a 328 GTS from 88' at a dealer in Sweden where I live. I haven´t seen the car yet but i spoke to delaer who gave me the VIN, it is 75901. My question is if it is the 88,5 version with revised suspension or what? It is a non ABS-car.

Which wheels does it have, convex or concave?

The way to be absolutely certain is to remove the fibreglass moulding that forms the top half of spare wheel area. Its only about 6 screws.

Under there you will either find an antiskid (ABS) controller - or you won't!

Most likely, it is not a 88.5 as the 328 SPC shows the suspension change occurred at:

up to 76625 = 88 (old suspension with concave wheels)

76626 and after = 88.5 (new suspension with convex wheels)

However, it is possible to put the convex wheels on the older chassis (using wheel spacers) so that's not always a 100% indicator for which suspension a 328 might have.

My car is 75601, non ABS. As far as I know, 75901 would also be a non-ABS car (pre-76625)

I´ve only seen the car in some pictures and it seems to be concave wheels. I´m going to have a look at the car next week since the dealer keeps it in his "storage area" as he described it... It shows that they have had this car in stock since mid -07 so I´m really not expecting that much, it might be a real lemon. Good 328´s are rather popular here and really good cars tend to get sold rather fast.

I´ll get back next week when I´ve had a look, until then, thank you guys for your wisdom and knowledge.

That would be previous to the suspension change. A few cars after 76626 have the early suspension, but no cars before that have the later suspension.

My GTB is definitely an early '88 (or late 1st half of '88?) model without the revised suspension and no ABS. It does have the '88.5-'89 cars' mirrors with the small f badges on them though. I wonder how far apart these cars were from each other as they were being built on the assembly line. Now they're a whole ocean and a continent apart -- 75912 is outside Washington, DC. My car has "family" in Sweden!

Keep us posted and good luck with your search/purchase.

I'm in possession of chassis 76626.
It was built for the European market -- and I can tell you that it was built in March of 1988.
It was also equipt with ABS.

As has been explained to me, aside from the yellow light on the dash, the ABS brake resevoir is different than Non-ABS.

Mine is #76289, Feb. 1988 build date which I believe was the last month before the 88.5s. I have some of the 88.5 features (but not suspension change or ABS). So #75901 would be an 88 not an 88.5.
