So I have been getting a ton of help from you guys here on the forum in regards to my fog lamps not working. Well after searching for the reason my fog lamps wont work I found someone modified the rear light wiring and deleted the rear fog lamps and wired in a third brake light. I have fixed the wiring and everything in the rear now functions properly. I still dont have front fogs. The fogs will light up when I flash the high beams but when I hit the fog lamp switch nothing. It is a Euro spec car and I am wondering how the fogs work on this car. Are the fogs supposed to light up when I flip the switch or are they just for the flash.

Pardon my ignorance concerning the 355 (and I admit that I have not taken the time to read your other thread), but on the 348 (at least on the European version) there are TWO fog light switches on the center console. One operates the front fog lights, and one operates the rear fog lights. Is it possible that there are two switches on the 355, and that you are not operating the second (front) switch?

I only see one in the car I have and I think it is supposed to operate both.

Just looking at the diagram on Ricambi's site (Tav 135, item 24), it lists part #165254 as "rear fog light switch not for USA, CDN, and J", and it lists 165258 as "fog lights switch, valid for USA and J".

From that, I assume that a Euro version of the 355 would have switch #165254, which according to the item description is ONLY a rear fog light switch.

The guy that owns the car says they used to work. the front fuse panel has two fog lamp fuses and a fog lamp relay. It also has a flasher relay and fuse.

Total guess, but at this point I would suggest that the fog light switch in your car is a Euro switch and the wires for the front fog lights are attached to a terminal that is NOT activated in Euro spec applications. If that is indeed the case, then plugging in a switch for a USA model WOULD activate those wires, and power would then be sent to the front fog light relay, and from there, to the fog lights. No changes in the wiring, fuses, or relays would be necessary. It should be fairly easy to prove me right or wrong.

If there isnt a SPDT relay in the "Flasher" (E5?) position this might do what you are suggesting. If someone installed a SPST relay in that position it wouldnt default to working with the dash sw (relay in NO position) if I remember the circuit correctly

Getting back to my post #6 - if the pictograph logo on your fog light switch shows a light pointing to the right, it's a Euro switch, and it would appear that its function is to ONLY illuminate the REAR fog lights. If the logo shows a light pointing to the left, it's a USA switch, and it would appear that its function is to ONLY illuminate the FRONT fog lights. I'm guessing that the car is totally prewired for either market, you just use different switches to activate different circuits. Either switch fits into spot #54 on the center console, as shown in the 355 Owners Handbook.

    Show me I'm wrong.
