    Hi folks,
I will be looking at this 308GTSi next week. I have the VIN number with me. Don't know in what kind of shape it is. haven't seen it yet. It belonged to a good friend of mine, passed away over a year ago. Now I am talking with his wife, and she wants to "get rid of it".
Without knowing the shape of it, problems, etc....and with the VIN only ....how do I know the price range.? He paid $34k originally about 4 years ago. I know these are not the most desirable 308's out there, specially this 2 valve car...so How much should I offer as first offer, and what would be the maximum to pay for it.
    Thanks in advance.

Without knowing mileage, condition and history, we're pretty much just throwing random numbers around.

First of all sorry to hear about you friend
Second, has anybody done anything to the car since he passed away?
Or has it been sitting since then?

    Thanks.
Well, spoke with his wife today....and she said the alternator ligth comes on, and the A/C is not blowing cold air.
She also said her husband had the car in a Ferrari dealer a few months before him passing, and had a major service done (belts, valve adjustment, etc.). She didn't know much else. I think the car is sitting there since the major service, and it developed alternator and A/C problems after that. Anyways, I know you guys can't say much without more info...but I was thinking about offering no more than $20k, since I see a couple of nice "looking" ones on ebay for $26k, and in need of nothing (climed of course).

    Thanks again.

Even in a soft market, If the car is clean, 20k sounds a little low-

If the alternator light comes on at idle only it may be nothing. If it starts and the belt is still there, rev it up a few times, it'll probably go out.
