Ok, here is a fun one. In Minnesota you can reduce your tax (tabs) on your car if it falls into the following: 10 years old or older, less than 500 made of that model per year...... Well I tried this and they (DMV) needs an "official document" like a letter from Ferrari or such. I searched the web and printed out items showing the number of 348 spiders imported to the US over three years (556) but that is not good enough. Anyone have a contact at FNA or the factory that they can share contact info with me? It is a hugh savings to me about $3500 (one time expense), so as you can see I am trying everything to reduce that expense.
What a bizarre way to determine the cost of tabs. Is the wording "....less than 500 made of that model per year..." a direct quote? So if they made 1146 Spiders from 1993 to 1995, that averages out to 382 per year.
Maybe photocopy that page out of the Bluemel Original Ferrari V8 book? (production figures table in the back)
Bluemel's book doesn't list the number of Spiders made (unless there is an updated version of the book). I got the figure of 1146 from Goodfellow's book. The 348 Buyers Guide in Forza says the number was 1090.
Does anyone else find it rather aggravating that even individuals as "connected" as Bluemel and Goodfellow can't get accurate production numbers from Ferrari, S.p.a.?
