Bought a CS with 10,000 miles last month, I'm wondering how costly the maintenance will be up to the next 10K miles or more. I'm planning to do the $1700 annualy maintenance this week. Has anybody had to change brakes or an F1 Pump on this car? Is there any other service centers other than F factory authorized service where we can save some money??

    Sid,

    Congrats on your strad. =)))

I think your best bet is to talk to a dealer shop or an independent. You could also read the manual for scheduled maintenance and look up price points on f chat or anywhere online really.

I bought my CS in june 07 with 2800 miles. At the time it only had a few months of warranty left. So far, I've only driven it upto ~5K miles. I did a fluid and belt service etc. at an independent in nov 07 (Eugenio's). I don't remember the service cost exactly but I think it ran south of $4K. I distinctly remember it being lower than price quotes I got from dealer shops.

I didn't have a good experience, when I took my car to FoBH for a warranty checkup, so I decided to not service the car there. I was lucky to get a referral to Eugenio's (an independent) who I am extremely satisfied with. There's also a place called Black Horse motors and Fusion Motorsports which I know little of except that they in general have good reputations. In the past, I've taken my porsches to Lucent where the guys are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

    Hope this helps.

P.S Not that americans in anyway are authorities on italian spelling but I think most americans spell it sCuderia red. Moreover, the suede like cloth which makes up your interior is alcantara.

Give Giuseppe a call at F and M Motorsports. 310-445-8956. He is in WLA on Pico Blvd. He is great and honest. Just a thought.

360 and CS has basically the same costs. They share alot of parts. However changing pads will be 2-3 times more then the 360. Expect around 5-6k usd. Changing rotors will be more then 30k usd, F1 pump should last for many, many years. Service is basically the same as a360, cam belts, filters etc.

    hey sid

my experience of 2.5 yrs and 11k miles is that CS is actually a fair bit more expensive than 360 M - my car has had new wishbones, balljoints , headlamp pod , exhaust bracket and other bits and pieces , all on wrrnty. on my own pocket , it's had new shock bolts, clutch , flywheel and bearing plus 2 sets of tyres. The UK cost of new discs and pads fitted is around £11k but i only know of 2 cars that have had this done. Pads are around £1k per axle. A lot of parts are CS specific and a VIN # is needed to order spares so there's not much the indies can do to undercut the official dealerships.

    Hey Tony,

I'd have to disagree. The big difference would be the labour cost. For more involved services, I'd say the difference could be in the thousands ($ i.e).

The items you list above only the brakes I think are dearer than 360M and those other items all fail on the standard 360M. My CS has not had balljoints yet but my 360 Spider had by the same mileage. Rear wheel bearing replaced on CS and Spider (CS being cheaper than I paid for the Spider!). All work being done by Official Ferrari dealers.

    Hi Tony

My OFD when I was looking to buy quoted me for brakes, clutch etc to give me an idea of costs and the clutch was quoted same as 360M (but that is not to say they got it wrong!).

I just took my car to M & F Motorsports in West LA.

This shop is very close to me (like 5 minutes). I'm really happy with Giuseppe. He's italian and has been working on cars for 40 years.

I've already saved a lot of money going to him.

    Thanks for your refferal.
