Tragedy, Ferrari Enzo untouched for 5 YEARS !

i am surprised there is no input from the fellow lebanese f-chatters....maybe they are trying to lay low and cut a good deal ??
alternatively the car might be too hot to touch !!

what if a car is impounded and sold by the state and the original owner is still holding on to the title ?

 

Obviously Rosso Corsa - if your house was painted in a gleaming, flashy red, you wouldn't want to see it on your cars either...

Also, a similarly-dispositioned famed Italian car confiscated by a Middle East government comes to mind, and in that regard I think intouch 1's remarks above are particularly meaningful...

I think my well-intentioned encouragement of Tarek's quest must be prefaced with: "Be careful man, be careful". You know what to watch for...

 

The car wasn't for sale before... It was facing a court. But now, at this time, it's currently for sale.

 

If the proper documentation clarifying all this comes with the car, this could end up very nicely...

 

the car was imponded by customs under lebanese law. if one was to buy the car and export it, to europe for example. what if the pervious owner shows up with the title and claims ownership. enzo's are not a common sight and it should not be too hard to trace down the car.

we are just discussing all possibilities here to try and make sure the buyer does not face future surprises.....

i believe there is an import tax of a 100% in lebanon........will that be added on top of the asking price ? is the car legible for export ?

 

If I saw that car sittin' so long without being driven or looked after, I know what I had done.. Take a headlight or so and bring ik home .

S., it's the same situation when we buy impounded cars through auctions held by our local customs authorities. The ownership is automatically transfered to the new buyer and you receive a bill of sale from customs stating you as the new owner of the car. This bill of sale entitles you to register the car in your name.

 

Thanks Petr............the Enzo must end in someone's hands, it cannot stay there forever. The customs do not want it and they will let it go for a price. That price must keep all parties involved happy.

hey tarek, I did some checking on the paint for you. Apparently, ONLY rossa corsa is available for the enzo, they discontinued all other colors. Violators will be prosecuted.

I also talked with the customs officials - they said you could only buy the car if you promised to keep it rossa corsa. Additionally, if you change the color, Fchat will knock you back down to "karting."

it's tricky. within our country, yes you would have proof of ownership. but what about a title to the car being presented abroad ? just make sure and account for all options !

I'd be surprised if Tarek hasn't already seen these, but I haven't seen them mentioned so far.

 

Is it possible that the carbon engine cover is warped with the heat? That is one serious slant but what else could it be?
