Hi, based onto what kind of documentations / chassis etc, are you assuming this is a replica?
I dont' think so. I asked to the guy owner of the car and I know the story...

Door style, dashboard, instruments, steering wheel, steering wheel position, plus many other details. A replica for sure.

See below pictures, compare and listen to the experts (Marcel Massini, Napolis, El Wayne and others...). I'm an exotic car enthusiast and I have a good knowledge (I think) in Ferraris but not like these guys. em

    Hi Marcel,

Aren't most pontoon fendered LHD? BTW is this the (ex?) Heuberger replica based on a Boano?

    Best regards, Peter

No, that one is RHD (pretty strange!). It's not the worst TR replica around, the size and shape of the door distrubs me most. Instruments and steering wheels come and go; they are sometimes wrong on real cars too. Best wishes, Kare

    Hi,
the steering wheel is an original one! it isnt' a replica such as many Nardi coming from a new production by the Nardi - professional near by Varese - Italy...or some steering wheel wellproduced in few quantity by " artisan " in those last year...

Hi, the owner of the 250TR knows Marcel Massini...he asked me not to give infos about his own car because he was very disappointed about such declaration by Marcel ...who is a specialist and who should be careful in any kind of declaration about Ferraris. We are sure that he knows very well Ferrari 250TR! not many 250 TR have been constructed by Ferrari! I respect the owner of this 250TR...

Maybe the owner should have consulted Marcel Massini before he bought this obvious replica.
Here are just some of the things that are incorrect: Tachometer incorrect. Gauge mounting is incorrect (should have four screws in a pattern around the tachometer, switches in gauge cluster are incorrect, ignition switch is incorrect type (early type with headlight switch, should be later style with push key to start),
The shape of the dash is wrong, it should taper to the right of the ignition switch, it has a sharp corner. The brake and clutch pedal are incorrect, The should be oval with a wooden pad. The location of the throttle pedal is incorrect, it is too high. It should also be smooth, and formed from sheet metal into a U-shape.
The steering column is too high, it should be lower with a sheet metal trim piece. The steering wheel is wrong, it should have triangular holes in it.
The entire electrical board is all wrong, it has the wrong fuse boxes, wrong voltage regulator in the wrong location, wrong 4-pole junction block.

These things are just the tip of the iceberg that I can see from one photo. I'm sure that there are pages of other incorrect items that indicate that this is a replica.
The question I have is this: If you were going to the trouble and expense of making a 250 TR replica, wouldn't you photograph and measure a real one and copy everything exactly? It's not rocket science, it's a very simple car and easy to copy. There is no reason that you couldn't make a replica that was so realistic that it would fool an expert.

The original's steering wheel looks very similar to an old wheel I picked up years ago. The wheel I have is marked "WALSALL WHEELS LTD. ENGLAND", and it is 17 inches in dia. It does not have the 2 tone wood however. Does anyone know what size and brand steering wheel was used on the old TR's?

The crazy thing about these replicas is they aren't cheap. With hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line, you'd think constructors would pay more attention to details. At least fly to a car show where an original is on display an take photos.

Thanks for the photos Motob. You don't see a lot of good detail photos out there.

Nice to see 0716TR, but you should know that it had a Drogo berlinetta body when I had it, so what you are now seeing is not original.
