All, I'm in the process of replacing my clutch, triple seals, Hill T/O bearing (etc.) and I noticed a small hole along the weld of my left side header where the Y-pipe and CAT converges. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Fortunately it is small enough that small tack weld may resolve the leak. I'm also toying with the idea of using a small drop of some high temp synthetic hardner as a quick fix. Haven't made up my mind. I don't want to take any shortcuts in getting the pin sized hole fixed, but I'm not sure what options I have. Thusfar, I have been thoroughly impressed with the level of craftmanship of Fabspeed. I've bought just about everything off their shelf that they make for the 355. I just wanted to bring this to everyone attention.
If it was me, I'd take it to a good welder and get it fixed right, the first time. P.S. Hey, want to come to SA next season and do some Storm Chasing in the Pan Handle. Maybe we'll get lucky and find a mile-wide F5!!! We'll use YOUR F355 as the chase-car, though. LOL!
How long and miles since installing? I also have all fabspeed exhaust except muffler of course. Want to know when to start checking close. I have about 6 months on mine and 500 miles.
Interesting, thanks for posting. Probably not worth sending it back to them for repair (lifetime warranty), shipping will be more than taking it to a local welding shop. If you can post a pic of where the leak is and how obvious the spot is...
In my best estimation, I reckon its been about 8 K miles and 7 months since I had them installed. I'll try and snap a photo or two. The hole is small enough (slightly larger than the size of a size of pencil tip) that it is very easy to overlook however, you can hear what sounds like an exhaust leak on startup. I've got a welder coming in to fix it up.
I am so paranoid about crappy ferrari electronics. Do yourself a favor and unplug your ECUs before the welder gets to it especially if his ground connection is far from the area to be welded.

This is an easy weld.......to tig it would take me no more than 10 minutes. The going labour rate here is a minimun of 50.00 which covers an half hour and your job would only take a few minutes......I would suggest you take it to a local welder and just get them to fix it (for such a small repair.....I have done these for free). And yes, I would disconnect both cpu's (as was suggested prior).....just to be on the safe side.
