The manual is written in greek. In Greek, or in Geek? ;)
Oh, man, I was hoping that this wouldn't come up. Honest, I really didn't drive it all that much. Okay, so I pushed it a little bit, but BFD. I figured that since you was out of town that you or Sal wouldn't notice. Aw crap, I guess I left the wrong key. Listen, I'm sorry. And, uh, about those dents on the inside of the roof? You need to talk to Count Whathisname about that. It wasn't me man. Seriously, I wouldn't have done that to your car. I tried to tell the Count about the NoTell Motel, but he wouldn't listen. Dale
Why would THAT car need more than a simple lock and cylinder key starting system? It seems that there's an added level of Italian complication that gives trouble when it really isn't needed at all. Just my 2c.
Bruce- Welcome to the world of "Why did they do it that way?" or "Why do the oxygen/lambda sensors/ECUs fail on a really expensive F car when they give no trouble on a (you pick) Chevrolet, Mercedes, Porsche or rice-burner?" You have to put up with the weirdness to play with the prettiest dynamic toys in the world. But at least they are expensive to fix. Taz Terry Phillips
So far the moral of this thread is to buy/invest in a car w/mech fuel pump, carbs, battery, key and 4 tires..... KISS. Thechnology is "KILLER" until the power goes out.
post 1995 all ferraris have integrated alarm ecus that talk to the motronic ecus. They are inseparable once the talk once together. I wnat to know what happens if you remove the alarm ecu and then swap motronic ecus and then try and start the car. Could you then have an alarm free late model ferrari????
FYI: All Enzo keys do not have a battery in the key.It does not have any buttons either. It has an immobilizer chip in the key which will have to match the module in the car. Jim will need the electronic code and both keys with and SD2 to reprogram them.Good luck. For some reason it lost it's receiver code at the ECU.
Thats right, do need the sd2 for that one, doesn`t have the remote buttons, suppose it has to go to the dealer at this point.
Is it possible Pininfarina might have the information needed? After all, they must have taken the system apart when the car was bodied there...
Change that to 1999 and on 360's and then your statement is correct, not on the 355's. The 360 alarm ECU burns the code into one Motronic ECU. The ECU's can be swapped and then the code is burned into both and only will work when mated with that alarm ECU. The 5.2 alarm systems can be bypassed (Dont ask) but it is no easy task.
Hmm. Ignition: toggle switch. Starter: push button. After all, it's not like someone could pawn it off among all the other P4/5s on the market. And how often do you park it at Walmart, anyway?
So, did the pig start? Just because the battery is charged doesn't mean the ECU gets any/enough juice. Palin wears glasses, but the eyes are empty
Napolis, Is there an update on this? I know you said you wouldn't be able to get to it until the 11/12. However, I see that you are around since you picked up your 8C yesterday.
Battery seems to have voltage regularity issues. (Not charging issues) The two ECU's don't communicate unless voltage is perfect. They shut down to prevent damage to ECU's. Should be under control with new battery. Alt. is fine. All Grounds are fine. Programing is fine.
The problem seems to be when you remove the battery from the system. It can trigger faults that don't show up immediately which is what happened here. Computers are a PITA. Once again thanks to WWOC for helping Sal out. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Microvoltage changes can cause fault codes, some systems are less tolerant than others. Usually fault codes never make it beyond storage rather than idiot/CEL's. SD3 picks them up. I've got a great story for Sal about getting my SA running as 2 sixes, as the DME's wouldn't link as master/slave. FNA said it couldn't happen. I asked where I could EM the video. They flew someone out, told dealer they were idiots first. Then FNA couldn't fix it. Pretty damn funny. Us'n po' white trash doan get no count from them Joisey folk. At least it is easier to fix than hot soak problems.
