The problem is that being competitive in LM would require a diesel engine given how things went in the past few years. A diesel F-car is something I wouldn't want to see. I don't know if a direct injection petrol engine might be competitive.

I honestly doubt Ferrari will leave F1 in the end. It is much more likely that the FIA will reconsider some of its decisions.

    We'll see what happens.

Imagine what this would mean for the styling of their road cars!!
The TRUE RACEBRED GT's will return on the road, instead of pseudo-F1 cars with fake F1-noses forced into their front ends.
IMO all F1 nose cones in streetcars are Pinoccio-noses: they grow bigger the more the marketeers lie about these streetcars being derived from F1 cars.

Please bring back the GT class DNA into the road going GT's.

Let them change the rules-then F1 would go back to where it belongs-as a series for specialist chasssis/race teams and let the manufacturers go back to where they belong-which is in sports cars and endurance racing.

There is something else at work here. Think about a magician--he snaps his fingers on one hand so you will look at the snap and not see him "palm" a silver dollar in his other hand. Later he will pull this silver dollar out of your ear.

The best tactic Ferrari could take would be this . . . OK, we are open to your idea of single engines, but in order to concentrate on this, we need to pull ALL other items off the table. Max would scream like the pig that he is and you would find out the 'real' reason for this proposal.

    It is misdirection--don't fool yourself.

    Ha ha too right, ..

He is slipping though..The Sunday Times Rich List of 2003 ranked Ecclestone the 3rd richest person in the United Kingdom, with an estimated fortune of £2,400m. He fell to eighth place in 2004's Sunday Times Rich List, and by 2006 the rich list placed him 13th with an estimated net worth of £2,243m. Currently in the 2008's Sunday Times Rich List he ranks as the 24th richest person in the United Kingdom, with an estimated fortune of £2,400m

Just a bit behind you Dave..;)

Hey Mike, I hate to get off topic but in my opinion I was pretty light with my statement. I didn't attack you or your profession. I didn't make any derogatory statement about you or anyone else in your profession. I simply pointed out that you used my profession to post an example of behavior with a negative context. Seriously man you are always so unhappy about everything to do with F1, I don't even understand how you still watch. Heck, your favorite driver and team are one race away from the Drivers Championship and yet you have nothing but negative post about F1. Be happy atleast for a week. I only mentioned your attack of police police because I always find it so funny when somehow the shots at police happen no matter what the venue. Anyway no offense Mike and I take none as well, believe me I am so used to people taking unjustified shots at police that I don't lose sleep over it.

    Scott,

I got your PM - we'll chat this afternoon... I am not slighting cops... I have lots of LEO friends and I interact with them a lot in my line of work. But even my LEO friends roll their eyes at how some of the rookies act sometimes, right? I know you guys deal with a-holes on a daily basis and my friend who is an MA state trooper told me that he is the most polite, and s-l-o-w-s down the most (just to make sure his handwriting is neat of course ;) ) when he has some ****** telling him he wasn't speeding and that he pays his salary, etc, etc. I am saying Max is acting like that guy... he's using his venue of where he has a 'say' over Ferrari to get his digs in. no offense meant to LEO's.

As for F1, I will not be happy until Kimi is kicking Massas ass, and Ron Dennis flips off Mosley as Max is carted off to bankruptcy court as his wife serves him with divorce papers and the repo man is at his apartment taking all of his posessions. Is that too much to ask?
