    Hi everyone,
    I think I need a support group.

I went out in the garage last night to do some cleaning up and discovered various boxes of Ferrari parts.

Oh, here's the extra pair of brake rotors I bought on eBay. Here's a tach. A clutch cable. A door latch. A vent. The list goes on. I can't help it. I surf eBay and I buy Ferrari parts. Sometimes I need them. Sometimes not. Some are for "a rainy day" when something breaks. Some are just for amusement (Do I really need an illuminated "Ferrari Service Center" sign in my garage?)

Please, tell me I am not alone in this affliction. I can't help it....I buy Ferrari crap on eBay! :)

you are not alone, I do this with my 308 and my 1960 Corvette, I have one side of the garage with Ferrari stuff and the other with Corvette stuff and in both cases some came from ebay.

    Birdman,

You are not alone. I got more Ferrari signs/ flags/ stickers from e-bay than anyone in their right mind would.

I found a "cheap" 95 XJ6 Jag (Black/ Creme) and I'm going to just 'check it" out tomorrow like I need another car - I have no idea why .... I can;t even play the Shoe/ Bag card with my wife cause this sh+t costs more than that ... oh well...

I think we all think the same.

If it's a deal/steal we must bid for it.

    "WE MUST BID FOR IT!"

LMFAO!!! Maybe! But not recently....been traveling too much to buy anything! I actually found stuff the other night that I completely forgot about buying. I was like "WTF is this? Oh yeah....I bought this last winter on eBay!"

Chris, you are the king of this!! How much stuff have you bought for your engine rebuild so far???

Join the crowd. I still have assorted Mondial parts and literature...and I no longer have a Mondial.
Now I buy anything Fiat or Alfa... you never know.
"Unobtainium" means never letting a part purchase opportunity pass by.

Guilty here too. Parts for the XKE, 308 and Corvette all over the place, plus a bunch of cars I no long own. I keep threatening to go through the garage and basement and clean out all the stuff I will never use. Then I could sell it all on Ebay, which is where most of it came from. If anyone needs a lifetime supply of widgets or framisses, let me know. LOL

Yep, me too. I have enough parts I bought off eBay to almost build a 308 from scratch. :D

I know the feeling, I promised myself I would never buy any Ferrari memorabilia (outside of books/magazines, etc) until I bought one. In the last few months I have made up for lost time in a BIG WAY. It is even permeating my professional life. In the last week, I purchased a Mondial engine blueprint and a Formula 1 photo from 1953 for my wall. Also, I must have the only firm in the city with copies of Cavallino for clients to purview while they wait. Actually, its been a big hit with our male clients and children.
So far, I have nothing in the office that is "adolescent," but for how long I don't know. I fear that one day soon the wheels may come off!

As for my garage, well thats beginning to look just plain silly.

Abso-freaking-loutely! It is a necessity right up there with motor oil and kitty litter for when you pour it in the top and it comes out the bottom.

You need it for the same exact reason I need a red neon SF shield clock in my garage, and the framed Mondial engineering drawings.

Wow! How much you want for those framed Mondial engineering drawings? Does this mean I have it to despite my library of 30 Ferrari books and framed signature of Enzo Ferrari?

'tis the law of the expanding Ferrari universe:

Ferrari "stuff" multiplies and becomes more random in organization as available space becomes available :)

I had to explain it, to Mom...

I carry a spare Ferrari 308GTB hood from home to home, hanging it on the wall, so I"LL NEVER NEED IT!

It wards off evil, you see?

Sure enough, a guy backed into my car smashed the front clip and damage stopped, just short of the hood...it works GREAT!

    Hi Birdman.

Don't be worried. I'm checking eBay all the days searching for Ferrari 308 bargains!!! And I don't really need nothing by now... Well, I need a 16" Cromodora original wheel so if any of you has a forgotten wheel in his scrubby garage... ;-))) E-Ferrari shopping for fun! This is a well know illness, but isn't dangerous.

    Cheers ;-)))

P.S.: I'm checking Internet also for Magnum stuff, but please, don't mention it to nobody...

It makes your wrenching official, or something :D In my bike shop switching on the DUCATI sign gives things a much more serious aire and indicates a more robust supply of alert-5 Bud Light is required!

We vehicle guys are cut from the same mold, only for me it's with Ducati parts. I'm not there w.the F yet simply b.c. I'm not as familiar with what's likely to go on it as I am with the bikes.

I do it too. I still have several parts sitting there waiting for the time that I just happen to be in there taking something else apart. I had a Pinin badge sitting on the shelf for almost two years before I finally remembered it when I had the left wheel well apart! I figure if I ever sell my 308 I'm almost going to need a whole truck to ship it just to get the car, all the new parts that I haven't put on yet, and all the old parts (that for some unknown reason I feel compelled to save on a shelf) shipped together.

I think we need a new saying....................................

"Hi, I'm John and I can't stop buying Ferrari parts."

You know what they say though, admitting you have a problem is the first step to getting help ;) ;)
