5th annual "Enthusiast day" for charity

As promised here is the itinerary for the day.

9AM until ??? Come see the amazing transformation of the Lotus Elise from Track car to Show car ( well almost) Yes every possible blemish that you could imagine on a car is represented on this three year old track car with 8k track miles. Nick the detail guy will demonstrate his technique on every aspect of this car and its blemishes. By the end of the day you will have learned a ton and will witness the amazing transformation!! FWIW I will be paying full price for the detail and Nick has agreed to donate 100% to the Boys and Girls Club!!! What a guy!!

Dyno Schedule: 8AM- 5PM I have deliberately left more time in between each run in case the Dyno has a hickup.$75 per participant. Check payable to Delaware PCA

F1 Brazilian Grand Prix Qualifying will be live on Speed TV at 2PM. We have a Large screen TV set up for your viewing pleasure.

A Powder coating Demonstration will be held at 2PM. Come see how this process is done. From Raw steel to powder coated before your eyes. This demonstration is free!!!

Yet to be specifically scheduled but promised is a demonstration of alloy wheel repair. If you have a nick or a gouge you want fixed email me so I can get you scheduled. [email protected]

Remember this is all for the Boys and Girls club to raise funds for a holiday party for dissadvantaged children in inner city Wilmington. It is our 5th year of doing this holiday party for the kids. They have already emailed me to ask me if we plan to do it this year. I think they fear the economy will take its toll on this welcome event but I have assured them we plan to rise to the occassion regardless of the economic circumstances we face currently. Of course 100% of the fees charged for the Dyno and the Paintless Dent removal and the Detailing and the alloy wheel repair go directly to buy the supplies for the Christmas kids event. Everyone is donating their time. Dupont Motorsports and I are donating the facility. If you want you can show your support by attending and donating to the cause. A donation box will be on display. If you pay by check please make your check payable to Delaware PCA. The Delaware Porsche Club is a co-sponsor and will facilitate the financial record keeping and arrange for the purchase and payment of the toys and the food and beverage for the Christmas party itself. I'm pretty sure I'll be goning down 295 into DE or however gps commands, lol!!!

 

I live 5 minutes away from C&C, so I can meet you pretty much anywhere on 202...the more driving the better, I got a feeling this weekend is going to be the one of the last really good drives for me until Spring.

It was great seeing everyone today! Thank you Jon and all who put in a lot of effort to make it happen.

 

Enjoyed the hell out of that. First time I ever went 130 (on the speedo) without leaving a garage. (126 mph according to the dyno.)

And for anyone who has never driven on a dyno before, here's the DM primer.

1. Take a valium prior to the event.
2. Release parking brake prior to first dyno run, not after first run. Amazingly, the car made over 120 hp with the parking brake on. And it made a stink, too.
3. Set traction control to OFF, suspension to SPORT.
4. Wear earplugs
5. Strap on your giant ones, because sitting in your car 15 feet from a cinder block wall with a couple of straps holding you in place is a little... um. nervous making while doing an indicated 130 mph in 4th gear.
6. Check parking brake, prior to lift off. (mention this twice because it does seem to make quite a difference in the HP) 336 RW HP vs 120.

Yep... Claimed I was doing 48 in a 35. He was a complete *********. He ended up knocking it down to 44 in a 35. Thankfully, the points don't transfer over to PA, but still a nice $80.00 contribution to the fine men in blue. What I still can't quite figure out is how the guy in the 1986 car gets stopped over the Flaming orange Lambo or the parade of caymans!

 

I just wanted to stop in here and apologize for not being in attendance today, I had a very unfortunate family event last night/today.

I spoke with John(Johnny Dents) today and heard everything went great, weather couldn't have been better.

Can't wait to see some pictures and hope I'll be afforded the opportunity to attend next year.

 

Noticed on my way out the sneaky ass cop parked here.

He seemed to be monitoring the noise, waiting for his chance.

Cops in that area are very bad. They actually passed a law to stop these small towns from generating revenue from traffic enforcement when they noticed some of these places had revenues that were mostly from tickets. I mean like a town's $1.5 million budget had $1.2 million worth of funds from ticket revenue. I'm guessing it was Elsmere Police and not State or County?
