Hi guys, I am in....I would buy the man meant to fly, and the otto cilindri posters. I am also sending these images to a cousin in Italy, whom is a mechanic ( not a Ferrari mechanic unfortunately), but Italian nevertheless....and see if he can shop around and find us some posters. I will let the group know if I get any positive news. Ciao... Claudio
Fooling around a bit with the emailed image. Here's a very small lo-res version of a first shot at some enhancing. I don't have photoshop, so I just cropped the pic itself out of the poster, enhanced it on Aperture and added the text/logo. Ended up doing that on Power Point because I didn't have any other way of adding words/logo. I think it would be possible to do a good job with a photo image if a scan is not possible. I'd suggest a pic be taken of JUST the car/plane, not the entire poster. That would improve the resolution. Obviously the logo can be changed to anything. I found some pics on the internet that would work quite well to make a totally new poster but, again, I don't have PP or any other way to overlay images. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dunno about you, but the original Winged-Cavallino looked much better than the photoshopped-in shield on red background. The red logo looks out-of-place on the white background.
There are tons of logos available - I just picked that one because it was colorful! Also any logo can be resized to be smaller/larger, depending on what looks best. I am not suggesting that this example is "ready for prime time," nor am I suggesting that I can make a decent poster. I'm just saying that I think it would be possible, using the photographed image from the Born to Fly poster, for someone who is good at it to make a new version that would look very good. Certainly a scanned image would be superior and a totally new poster, made on photoshop (or whatever) using available images COULD be excellent. In no way am I suggesting that I can produce such a poster, just hoping someone can! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Roland, I tried many times to send you the files, all the emails bounced back as undeliverable. If you have another email address, you might PM it to me.
Who's a good graphics guy? I have mine scanned, but they had to break it up into 5 scans to get it on the scanner. The output is in tif format, about 119 MB all together. We need someone who can edit the pieces back together without degrading the quality of the scan. There's also some minor scuffing and wear that probably needs to be fixed too. small versions attached to show what you'd be dealing with. Burn them on a disc for me, and I can see what can be done... Would love to see this on one of our 64" wide outdoor printers.

Does that mean you want the decisions decisions - wine, woman, and ferrari poster PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT - I don't have these nor am I selling them. We are just trying to find out who would be interested, if we can find the prints, somehow copy them and then have them hanging on our garage walls. THIS IS JUST PRELIMINARY. We should not get our hopes up. I also DO NOT know how much this would cost. Sounds like we are making some progress. Tillman, were you able to scan anything? Also, sounds like we will NOT be able to break up the scan into smaller pieces. I suppose Kinko's can scan "meant to fly" since there is not a copyright label on it. Michael Brown
I was referring to the scan files that Tillman has. I can probably piece these together, and see what I can come up with. I also sent him a PM...
Ok, I'm just guessing here, but I think maybe you didn't read the thread before you posted? Tillman has the scans, and they were broken up. We need to put them together and see if it works.
sorry about that - I actually did read it - just NOT well. I will wear my glasses and turn on my brain next time. mbrown ps. I just wanted summarize - yes, that's it. Ha Ha
If you want to put the sections up on mediafire or similar site, where I can download them, I could put them back together in photoshop then upload it to return the file in what ever file format you'd prefer. PM me the urls if I can assist the process.
I'm considdering a little serie of this one. Depending on the volume prize will be around US$ 25 incl postage (i guess) Any interest? It's in A0 size and comes in full color hi def. printing Let's call it: F by the sea. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Guys i have some info from a contact over here in the uk who is a printer he says "I can print single copies up to 5 feet wide and as long as you want so as to make banners or just a poster. costs are A3 £10, A2 £15, A1 £20. I need a high res pdf or something to scan scanning is an extra cost and depends on what it is cost is ex basildon normaly £20" Although he has the best printing machinery available ,the quality will depend on the posters being scanned though so basically if he can get hold of the posters he can scan them whole and reproduce them that way or if on an off chance we can get them on pdf , even better. I don't know how doable this is or if the owners of the posters would even want to send them over , but its an option .
MICHAEL, If ever you could have the "wine" bottle " made, how much would it be for each, ball park figure? Thanks.
These are my Ferrari 308/328/GTO Posters... in the Shrine (garage) I like the "Meant to Fly" too... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I remember "Winning Pair" and "Knockout" from waaaaay back. Ok, I have to add those two to the list of posters. Thanks for reminding me.
These are not yet hung in the garage. I laminated all of my posters to keep them decent looking in the garage... makes it challenging to photograph. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
