Today I spotted a silver Lamborghini Miura P400 stashed away in a secret garage.
OMG! I LOVE the Miura! They are one of the most beautiful cars ever made! Would love to see one up close some day! James
There was a SLR in front of the Four Seasons Friday and Saturday night, as well as an old MG TD parked next to it. Neat combination of old and new. Yesterday around check out time there was a Diablo GT with temp dealer "black plates" leaving the hotel as well as a maroon Viper GTS.
OKay...I know who the Saphire was...but the red GTS with roof scoop...wow...um...ya, not my taste...and no, I don't know who that one is...
A green & tan 1996 Bentley 4 door (not sure which model) was parking in my garage at work today. The guy said that he wants a 246 Dino.
Maybe one day he will finish rebuilding/redesigning the motor ;-) Glad to see some real progress being made.
Yesterday there was a black Nissan GT-R with no rear emblem at the CVS pharmacy on Slaughter & South 1st.
I have very limited knowledge about the mechanics of engines so you'll have to excuse me. I know he re-drilled the holes where the valve covers are attached. The original holes and bolts are notoriously weak since they are so shallow. Now they are much deeper and the new bolts are much longer. He also milled the whole top of the engine block for some reason. I'm not sure what else he's done to the engine but I'm sure there is more. He's an engineer so he knows exactly what he's doing and he has more tools and machines in his garage than lots of professional shops do. He has one of the coolest milling machines I've ever seen. Most of the tools that he has to use for the Miura were made by him, in his garage. In addition to the engine, he's completely re-engineering the whole oiling system. He designed his own dry sump oil pan and made all the moulds himself. He's also going to do some upgrades to the the very weak chassis. The early chassis are very weak and the can get crumpled up just from lifting the car with a jack using the recommended jacking points. They have swiss cheese style holes all over the chassis to make it lighter but it also makes it very weak. Unfortunately no photos will be allowed until the project is complete but once it is, I can assure you that I'll have tons of photos of it. It's already in great condition and it really didn't need any work other than new brakes and a new gas tank, since the fuel is so old and all gunked up. The owner has owned the car since the early 70's but it hasn't been driven in over 20 years.
I spotted some exotic looking car today but I have no idea what it was. It was silver and looked like a cross between a Shelby Cobra and a Carrera GT. I really only got a decent look at the back of it but I know I it wasn't anything I've ever seen before. Probably a kit car of some kind.
Where'd you see it? I've see something similar near the Wells Branch area, except it was a dark color, probably not even the same thing, but it was really ugly.
lol.. From what I could tell this thing looked ugly also. I saw it as it passed by my office on Guadalupe & 15th.
At about 2pm today I spotted a Rosso Corsa Ferrari 550 or possibly a 575 on Bee Caves Rd near HWY 71. I forgot to see if it had a smile or not. At about 2:25 I spotted a red convertible Viper SRT-10 on Mopac near Slaughter Ln. I also spotted a yellow Lotus Elise on Bee Caves.
