    Just to answer this having done it, yes you can get the engine cradle out on a 348 and leave the aircon pump attached to the car - just demount from the engine and there is enough space to wriggle it out as you lower the subframe. Saves having to de-gas / re-gas for those whose aircon works perfectly well anyway.

    Wish I had thought of that... but AC system will proably need some service/leak repair anyway.

    Mine is 2x4s and casters from Harbor Freight. Cost under $25. Disassembles (sheetrock screws) and stores neatly under the house. 4 services so far, no problem, but maybe an additional 30 minutes aligning everything for reassembly. :)
