I was wondering how long it would take before a thread like this was created. Along with many of the other bands mentioned:

Santana - I hate the 'scat' style solos he does; can't keep a fluid thought. I think 311 did a tune mocking him and it sounded better.

Satriani - Yeah, I know, "but he was Vai's teacher". So what, he just keeps playing the same surf crap over and over and is sloppy as hell; tries to double track stuff that isn't even remotely synched, and as Yngwie says, can't beleive how out of tune some of his 'work' is.

Slash - I always thought he was a personality; didn't offend me until I realized he actually thought he was a guitarist. If someone took lessons for 4 years and then crushed their left hand in a vise they'd be better.

That guy from Audioslave - WTF? Hey, if you're a guitarist in a band, and you want to do the 'real guitar player thing', here's a hint.... don't compare you're abilities with masses.

Not sure how you see slash as being a bad guitarist....

As for Audioslave, are you talking about Chris Cornell or Tom Morello?

Chris Cornell's voice sounds like a dying whale moaning or something. I liked Soundgarten ok but after buying one of his (Cornell) solo albums i can't listen to his voice any longer.

Previous post reminded me of my all time least favorite band.

    RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Worst band ever. A bunch of little wuss momma's boys acting all wanna be bad ass stiring up the wigga kids in white suburbia to hate themselves and America as they get rich off Capitalism and sing about how bad it is.

Some of those that were forces were same that bore crosses...whatever, blow me.

Get back in your jet and go back to your mansion.

    Here's to you guys...suckin' my Di*k!!!

That business model has been perpetuated for years with too many examples to list. But for a second there I thought you were talking about MM (although I consider "Beautiful People" to be an exception).

    Love it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTETiB5x-Lw

I like a few of his songs, but overall I have a lot of respect for the guy.

He's the modern day (or current) Alice Cooper. He's intelligent, invokes thought, and scares the crap out of anyone who doesn't take a minute to figure out what he's actually about.

It still gives me chills to this day when I remember either an article interview or tv interview with him after 'Columbine' happened. They asked, "If you could talk to those kids, what would you have said to them?" MM's reply, "Listen."

Possibly a modern day Alice Cooper, but according to Alice, not quite at all. Interesting NPR interview with Alice here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=10231271
