I'd say $150k (nzd) would own it, Maybe less. Nero/Nero F1. Not a car you want to own Pap but a good point of reference while shopping around. Done 48kms just had the major done.
If you are comparing the ownership of a Ferrari to a Porsche you do not understand and will be much happier in the Porsche. 355's only have a bad rep from non owners, current and past owners are realistic about the problems that can occur with a 355 and if you are prepared to deal with them then they are no longer problems. Don't be put off owning a 355 by what you read on the Internet, if you are not seriously into Ferrari's then you will not understand.
Exactly. Ferraris are for fanatics. Let me repeat: Ferraris are for fanatics. If you aren't fanatic about Ferraris, then you *will* be happier with another brand. No harm, no foul. Don't go away mad, just go away.
Because when the car IS sorted.........it is one of the BEST Ferraris ever made! Where's my cheque book? +1!
Its *only* AU $131K! Perhaps if it were AU $100K then it would be worthwhile to buy it and ship across the Tasman. I would still have to pay import costs, LCT and GST which will drive that price back up to AU $160K+ anyways!
That is true mate. That really nice yellow one is still for sale in Aus, still for AU $164K and they still havent called me back about it. They are still standing strong on that price, not too sure if I would bother to make an offer on it even though it has been sitting there for 3+ years I reckon. I mean, if they REALLY wanted to sell it, they would have lowered the price on it by now, right?
Old yella. http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRARI/F355/Queensland/csn1668065.aspx Nearly 14yrs old now that old girl. Averaging 1662 km per year! I dont see anyone buying it anytime soon either. It will probably sit there and rot for another 14 years!
1997 nero/tan 355 Spider looks HOT! http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRARI/F355/Victoria/csn6429212.aspx As does the price!! AU $179K!
Agreed, it is a nice car that one though. Could you organise a major as part of the deal? I know the guys are air heads but it is VERY nice. I would almost move to Aussie just so I could buy that car brother. $150k incl the fresh major......
1999 355 F1. http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRARI/F355/Western%20Australia/csn5385731.aspx A beautiful machine and the price tag reflects it!
Front bar has been replaced and is not correct, seat bolster has some wear, but easy fixed. Unusual color combo, is the leather "tobacco"?
Just had a recent major apparently mate. I didnt talk coin with them a couple of months ago, just showed interest and asked for the best possible price on it and they never called me back. So f*ck em!
Yeah, dont understand the red in the grill? Probably had a front end smash and they repaired it and didnt paint it black in there. Little wear on bolster, car has 11,000 km on it. That interior colour looks like Cucio to me?? Anyone care to confirm?
Thanks, Pap, much appreciated. I've been meaning to do another shoot, but I can't seem to force myself to choose shooting it over driving it on a holiday. Pap, you NEED a 355, being one of the few who actually do all your own wrenching, this car is meant for you!! And dagnabit they're quick. People talk about how the car needs more power, but I don't really think I should be trusted with any more than 375 ponies (I've been in trouble with the law 3 times now in that car, and they weren't speeding tickets), so the 355 will hopefully be with me for years to come.
Yes.........yes it is! Yeah, I reckon my 348 has enough power! Anymore and it will just spell trouble for me! I havent been caught yet, but we all have to remember what the speed limit is. These cars are fast enough, 348 AND the 355.
Thanks for the insite guys, if the valves and the cats seem to be the biggest problems with the car it doesn't seem too bad.
is the exhaust system a bolt on unit? will anything major have to be dropped or removed to install? how do you know your headers are starting to go?
Hi Evan. May I be so bold as to suggest you spend some time reading around the many threads here on the 355, you will become very familiar with the model very quickly. The exhaust is bolt on and bolt together, the waring signs for bad headers is a ticking sound at idle and sometimes heat spots on the heat shields, these appear as dark patches. The ticking sound is more conclusive. IMO if the car you buy has not had headers done then get them done as part of the purchase price. They can be done with the engine in place and is a job that can be DIY if you like. Enjoy the search.
+1! Do some research on the 355 Evan before you buy mate. This place is the BEST for everything Ferrari related! Happy hunting mate.
