I disagree with fastest lap points! Your reward for fastest lap is pole position for the race.

The current points system keeps it very competitive. However a slightly bigger gap between P1 and P2 would more interesting.

    Lewis 9 2 0 4 6 9 0 0 9 9 2 6 4 0 4 0 9 2=75
    Massa 0 0 9 6 9 4 2 9 0 4 0 9 9 1 0 0 6 9=77

Someone may want to double check the math.

This is based on 9,6,4,3,2,1. So, as far as I am concerned Massa is the champ. If first place is 10, then Massa gets 5 more points and Lewis gets 4 more points, so Massa wins by even more.

Well I'm sorry to say this is a fruitless exercise, when the FIA change the results AFTER the race!!!.

Are you always a d*ckhead, or are you just stupid? I said "I don't like it when the guy with the most wins isn't the WDC" which could still occur with the 10/6/4/3/2/1 system, but it would be more unlikely (as BetaScorpion showed), and I still wouldn't like it if it did occur -- can you not understand that? I didn't say "the guy with the most wins should always be WDC regardless of all else".

Points for constructors only, Drivers get gold, silver and bronze medals for first, second and third.

Guy with most golds wins driver championship. Tie breaker is most silvers/bronzes.

Constructor with most points wins constructor championship

    Simple really

I think it is a good system. Also, if Gold, Silver and Bronze were awarded at the end of the season, it would encourage continued competition for those last two spots.

Maybe 10-7-5-4-3-2-1? More incentive for fighting between second and third as well.

I like the Moto GP points where they "pay" to 15th.
Provided there are enough teams around after all the "cost cutting".

Dont be hatin but the Nascar system of lots of big points actually looks good to sponsors and fans of the backmark driver/teams. Competitive backmark teams are what is lacking in F1. Vettel added a new dimension to the last races. The Chase concept also adds a new dimension. Top 6 drivers for the last 6 races ? I wouldnt mind, really.
