I took my 355 out tonight for a quick spin......... Once she was warmed up I got on the throttle for max rpms. When I shifted from 1st to 2nd when engaging the clutch the revs didnt drop. This happened 2x's and was fine after that? Any thoughts.......doesnt feel like a clutch issue. I did just have all the fluids changed.
Yep, sticking accelerator cable or the wire is starting to fray. Try and lube it up mate. It is a little awkward to get the end of the cable in the engine bay.
Sounds like the circlip has popped off the end of the accelerator cable outer sleeve in the engine bay to me. There should be a circlip in the machined groove in the end of the acc. cable sleeve where it attaches to the thermostat housing on the engine which keeps the sleeve positively mounted and ensures the operating length remains the same. If the circlip pops off, the cable outer can slip out of the hole in the mounting bracket and snag on the bracket, effectively lengthening the cable and holding the throttle open a little. It can then drop back into the hole and work fine for a while before snagging again, normally under hard acceleration which equates to larger engine movements.
