I think I actually DO like that color on the car. It is a real stunner to see a conservative color on such a brash car. Very classy. Interior is fantastic too.

Yes, it for sure is a color you have to see in person...not a very good photo color..

BUT when you see it in person...WOWOWOWOWOW

It is a very very classy looking color and really shows off the lines of the car...I LOVE my #19 in this color..

    But to each his own..

Except that the SEs came in brown or gold, what are the differences between an SE and a regular 6.0? Are there any 6.0s that came in brwon or gold?

    The official press release.

Two exclusive colours for the Lamborghini Diablo Special Edition.

After its debut at the Geneva Motorshow, delivery of the Special Edition Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 is underway.

The Lamborghini Special Edition has been created to emphasise the characteristics of the Diablo and is available in two exclusive colours : Oro Elios (gold) and Marrone Eklipsis (metallic brown).

The interior upholstery, seats and dashboard, are colour co-ordinated to match the exterior paint and the seats have a special trim.

Comfort is enhanced by an electric seat adjustment as well as by a state-of-the-art Alpine audio system integrating a pan-European navigation system. The same integrated system is available for the US market.

All the exterior and interior details are in visible carbon fibre and have been made with a special titanium thread, thus giving the car more of a shine.

All the metal details of the cockpit have a titanium finish. The gear lever knob and grid are made of titanium. The intake manifolds and the cylinder-head covers have been made in magnesium emphasising the technology of the engine whilst saving weight, whereas the brake callipers are now customised with the Lamborghini logo.

The technical specifications are identical to the Diablo 6.0 - V12 engine with 285 cc able to reach a maximum speed of over 330 km/h, 0 to 100 km/h in 3,95 seconds.

To offer the driver the best in terms of acceleration, the Diablo SE is equipped with a short gear ratio.

The Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 Special Edition costs 423 million Itl.Lira ie 218.500 Euro.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

I've never quite understood Lambo's logic of such boring (ugly) colors on the 6.0SE's. Brown and gold are more suited to a station wagon or a minivan than a Diablo. You would think that the last best splash of the Diablo series would be reflected in the colors. I would have thought a pearl red, pearl blue or pearl purple....something like that.

I've often wondered if it the color choice was an Audi decision...sort of an internal joke. ....kinda to show who's boss. I wonder if it was chosen to "let the air out of the Diablo balloon" to make way for the upcoming Audi owned Murcilago.

I'm not bashing anything, but often wondered the rational behind the colors.

Even as a Testarossa owner as well, we all hate that brown dash. It was used because it was the best at reducing glare....too bad ascetics weren't taken into account.

Correct AS well as they DID not carry SE number plaques BUT are SE cars..meaning a total of 43 built...1 at the factory in Gold..so 42 delivered...I know of at least 3 GOLD ones destroyed and 2 Brown ones gone as well..

What a shame, they are truly one hell of a car and a notch above the reg 6.0

To me..the best things on the SE at least for me are..

The Seats are in a different style and are all PERFERATED..PLUS ELECTRIC and they are really that much more comfortable. You can also really notice the acceleration with the shorter gears. The titanium weave throughout on the CF is a upgrade look as well, instead of the standard blue weave CF on standard 6.0 cars...

And it is true the Brown dash was done to cut down on incoming sun glare..and untill you have been in both on a sunny day, black and brown..you can not appreciate the difference..

For me I like both, but the Dark Rich Rootbeer brown Metalic is so stunning in person...looks like a million bucks!!
