    He also snapped shots of Mini Cooper "E" #001 being unloaded at Lufthansa Air Freight and I presume it's the Mini Cooper Electric prototype coming in for the LA Auto Show.

    I'm certainly no expect, but I would think the unwrapped California cars are actually press cars. If they were delivery/dealer cars they would still be in the plastic wrap. Eh?

    I'm sure they are the LA Auto Show cars that opens on 11/21. They're not US approved cars as no amber side markers. They'll be sitting at F's Ontario warehouse for a while until the show.

    Yeah, especially w/ that rear plate that says "California" - I'm pretty sure they're for the Auto Show.

    Can't wait to see them in the "flesh" :)


    Is there anyone here who could help me get behind the ropes to get some better photos of it? PM me if you can.... I would VERY MUCH appreciate it!

    Normally any owner that brings proof of ownership is allowed behind the ropes with a guest. I've had no problem in the past bringing 1-2 guests in with me. (Don't know if and when I'll be going this year).

    You can also just call your local dealer. I get an appointment with Ferrari of Newport Beach every year.

    On the surface it might seem so, but it's no different than a renowned author of Ferrari history being escorted on a the behind-the-scenes tour of the Classiche Department or the F1 engine build-room, etc. The guy who snapped these shots on Sunday is a well known (in aviation circles) author and historian of aviation history.

    While I might find the tour of airfreight, passenger, maintenance, and tower operations interesting, he finds them absolutely fascinating. A few months from now I'm sure there'll be a published article about his LAX observations in a national aviation magazine.
