not a good vin where is another location, frame etc, state will not issue a tag on #39533
I did not have this issue here in CA, but some have used the following F101AC0007317291 F (Ferrari) - Engine type (this for a 365 GT/4) - year manufactured - car s/n.
Is the problem that they haven't got a 17 digit vin? Since yours is a 1982 serial number, don't you have a full 17 digit vin on the right side frame in the engine compartment (you can view from above) and other spots? It should be something like ZFFEB060000039533
My '82 also only has the five digit VIN . Not a problem for me in Illinois. Is this the first US registration for the car?
not first reg. in US no id on frame. car was in fla for long time, now i all at onse have a problem. good thing i have three of these to drive!
Other possible locations, depending on which firm federalized the car, might be a vin tag on the inside of the hood by the windshield, and on the driver's door post.
Isn't that only the chassis number, not the full vin though? You can tell how long it's been since I actually looked there!
I'm not sure why it's not a problem for you in Illinois - but the United States created the VIN in 1979 and began using it in 1980. I think just about every other country followed suit - because all Ferraris from 1980 and on have full VINs and not just serial numbers. What is your serial number? The full 17-digit VIN for 39533 is ZFFEB06B000039533, a 1981 European model 400i Automatic, silver with blue interior, blah, blah, blah. The countdown begins before dstacy arrives and tells you every single place where you can locate the VIN. Naturally curious, I await Dave's reply with the rest of you.
