I guess how I applied his quote was that some Enzo owners are fearful now, so in turn thoughs that can play can get a steal of a deal!

I also think they want to access how "Big" the green factor is going to be. It's interesting to note that BMW has canceled it's 8 series and is talking about making their new supercar M1 lighter and with a smaller/greener engine.

Excuse my ignorance on the supercar market as I am years from being able to afford one however, with many people saying that if Enzo'***** $350k then they can afford one, wouldn't that alone drive the price back up?

If more people can afford one, the bidding up process will start, eliminating people on the bottom and only keeping those willing to pay over $350k for one? Basic supply/demand principle? Or I may be entirely wrong, it's been known to happen!

This was the original post on 11-12-2008. Today is November 15, which is later than "tomorrow."

As I said, when those words (or words to that effect) are spoken, then there is a high degree of probability that it will not happen on time, and the price will be lower than expected.

And, this is EXACTLY why I have been posting the same message for months. For all you sellers, GET AHEAD OF THE CURVE.

Imagine prices like a roller coaster. If you are headed downhill and picking up speed, you need to price your car 'ahead' of the roller coaster, so that the transaction time will allow you to be at market when it closes. Otherwise, if you price it where you are right now, you will have moved down by the time the transaction occurs. So, if you need to sell, price it 5% to 10% below current market. Then, a month after you sell it and prices are even lower than your price, you can say that you did the right thing.

    I'm just saying . . .

We have massive deflation at the moment but if the right mix of events occur, we could start to have massive inflation (say in 2010). Then, Enzos will be worth well over 1 million again but the vast majority of buyers will be foreigners who will be exporting the cars.

Haha funny, but i am looking for one, not for myself, but does it matter, im serious about having it sold and if the price is right i have a buyer for it, i can almost guarantee it will be sold if he can just get back to me.

don't judge a book by its cover

also looking for a 288 GTO and black on black SLR if anyone knows of any

Nope. The car was repo'd on the day I posted. Before anyone pm'd me it was bought by a dealer for IMO a very reasonable price.

I passed on the people who pm'd me to the dealer. IMO this one was a bargin. As an aside a number of cars are likely to be repo'd in the near future and I agree that we're no where near the bottom.

Now there's a market that will be destroyed...without any guarantee of prices on those cars ever coming back.

Hmmm...speaking of which...it's getting to be time to revisit our predictions for the next Arizona auction.

"Anyone buying a car today is paying a fee of 30-50% to own it vs where prices will bottom."

That's just fantastic advice IMO. Patience. Prices for all the 60s cars I've been following clearly are falling, based on the asking prices alone ....
