I saw the first 30 minutes of the last BU film and turned it off. I saw the first 15 minutes of Cloverfield and made a frisbee out of it....really, if I want to see a Jumpy Cam movie, I'll get the script and make the frikken movie myself with a 20 year old Sony HandyCam 8 and some first year drama students from the local college. Watching any of these movies is a huge pain in the ass and all of them scream DIRECTOR not MOVIE. IDGAF who directs what; I don't watch movies based upon who directed them nor who acts in them. IMO, a director is like a child; best neither seen nor heard...and gimmicks like shaky cam are all about the director and not the movie or the story that movie conveys.

    Dumb.

Going to skip this one even though Casino Royale was a complete gas, start to finish.

    i've gotta say:
    brosnan
    craig
    connery
although depending on how he does in the next movie, craig could become my favorite bond. i'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one, that it wasn't a great script or plot in this one.

All of Ian Fleming's published novels and short stories have already been made into movies. From now on, we'll have to make do with non-Fleming penned stories.

As mentioned earlier, I highly recommend re-watching Casino Royale before seeing Quantum of Solace. You'll leave the theater confused otherwise. The new movie seems more focused on character development than plot. The Bourne-style action scenes show that the producers may be taking the stories that Bourne is the new Bond seriously.

I was highly disappointed that the DBS only appeared for a few minutes at the very beginning. One of the most obvious product placement scams I've seen in a long time. A clip on the movie said they wrecked the equivalent of 14 Astons making the movie.

    Agree. CR gets a A+

    Quantum gets a C-.

Worst Bond girl ever, plot MIA and the villain not very villain-y.

But worth the $6.25 mantinee price. :)

    Connery by far.

I've never been able to really get into any of the recent Bond movies. I feel they are missing something that the originals had. Too much CGI special effects kinda ruin things for me.

Roger Boar was the worst 007, I can't stand watching him for more than 9 seconds before the channel gets changed.

I seem to recall the producers saying that they were restarting the franchise with CR, and would work through the books. I sincerely hope that's the case.

I think Craig is the best Bond so far (at least in CR)
Then Sean, Timothy, Pierce, and finally (way in the bottom) Roger. Of course, Roger was tied to the 'campy' era of films, so he doesn't get a decent shake. Nobody remembers poor George :)

I agree with most here, especially about the shaky/jittery camera work. I hate that, especially when we got there a little late and had to sit in the 2nd row. I thought the plot was ok, but the American agent was way too tacky. After seeing all the press about the Aston being ditched in the water, I expected a much better chase scene.

Craig is probably my favorite JB now, but just barely above Connery.

It seems to be that CR and now QoS are in the works for character development of JB, and they'll possibly get away from the gadgety Bond of the past. I don't mind that as long as they work on the jittery camera scenes and have more car chase scenes. :)
