Can you translate all that? I took 3 years of german and still can't understand much. What car was it? I'm guess 612, but 5 people can't fit. 5 person missing is quite strange. Do we have another Dieter on our hands. :D

Brief translation then (a bit less brief than the previous one).

"Police said on Sunday that the group returned from the disco. The luxury car, borrowed from the young driver's father, started to skid, probably because of excessive speed. It came off the road into the grass and hit two blocks weighing tons. After some more skidding the sportscar came to a halt.
The 18 year old driver and two females aged 21 and 23 were brought to hospital, seriously injured. another person was lightly injured. A fifth occupant who was supposed to be in the car, was not encountered by the police. The accident caused damages of 250.000 euros."

Nice! All it takes is a Ferrari and any irresponsible 18 y/o can leave the disco with multiple older women! :)

Luckily, it sounds like there were no other cars involved in the accident?

Read it in the local newspaper today. Although I'm around the age of the driver (22) and not the father, I'd NEVER lend my son a Ferrari or any expensive car to drive to a disco. A car show or anything, fine, but 18 year old + girls + flashy, powerful car = disaster.

    Easy come, easy go.

If that kid was forced to work for the car since he was 5 yo, I doubt he would skid around in it.

    Serves him right.

    Somebody sounds bitter.

While the driver of the car may be immature, you're just immature for criticizing others for how they attained things whether it was through sweat, blood, and tears or inheritance. At the end of the day I am glad that nobody died and hope that the driver learns something from this experience.

Since i was 18 my dad borrowed me his car...He worked from home since a while and when i got my license i couldnt buy a car. I had to go to work in order to buy a car but as i worked nights my parents couldnt pick me up from work, nor where there any busses or trains heading my way (I lived in the middle of nowhere). Dad told me to just take his car, but if i'd damage it I would pay for it (it was an 2006 bmw 730LD). I was careful with the car, cleaned it every other weekend and bought the fuel for it.

the car wasnt a ferrari by any means, but for an 18 year old a 3 litre twin turbo car with a measily 250hp (but 450 torque IIRC) was more powerful than any of my friends. two of my friends have crashed their euro **** boxes with less than 100hp and so have a lot of other of their friends. All of them said 'you are going to crash it, its to powerful' and some even said 'i am going to crash my first car' (litteraly like that!). I drove the car hard when i could and if i knew the roads, i drove far more than most of my friends and i've never crashed...

I've got to be honest a little though, i've been driving quads since i was 11 and karts often before that. Right now i've got a 60hp yamaha banshee which i offroad often with.

I guess it takes someone responsible AND skillful to drive a powerful car. Most people under 18 havent had a single experience with counter oversteer or skidding until it happens on the road, they panic and crash. I think the 18 year old who crashed his dads f-car probably stole it of his dad, took it to the club, got with some girls, drank a little. combine this with most likely inexperience of driving a fast car, or skidding control and you've got yourself a car crash.

I thought the point of a Ferrari was to get younger women!

(I guess not for an 18 year old, though)

Very sad to hear about this. The dad is not very smart to let the 18 year old take the car to a disco. The good thing is that no one got killed but the bad thing is the car is damaged.

Sorry but by and large it just doesn't work that way from my experience. It seems I could get more 20-30-somethings with a nice lollipop before I could with a Ferrari. A friend with a TR lements the same.

Ferraris are just not the "MUFF Magnets" young future owners wish or think. Think with your "Big head" guys (Not being nasty, we were all there at one time too). Young women in the 50's, 60's and 70's seemed to care MUCH MORE about cars than they seem to today.

Squeeze three people into a 612 back seat, two thirds of whom are attractive young females? Easy. I was in the trunk (boot for our UK friends) of an American sedan once with two attractive young females. Was very enjoyable, and all of us were even sober. I forget what venue we were entering illegally, but there were lots of laughs when the trunk was opened. Ended up with four of us in the back seat on the way home, also enjoyable.

I don't think he's bitter, I think he's right. When you work for something you have more appreciation and respect for it because you know the time and effort you put in to get it. Atleast from my experience when a 16 was handed a brand new car they abused it, never kept it clean, and just had no respect for it. After working 2 years starting at 15 I bought my first car and it was the best feeling in the world. Always kept it clean, running perfect, and always took great care of it I was very proud of it I guess.

    So I don't think he's bitter.
