    Behold brothers.........from ebay........

A fully working "Engine start" button.

    Women love pressing it!!!

Definetly...positively the last modification I'm going to do. :D

Have something new being delivered in March 2009 and that's going to take up all of my time so the 348 will rarely get used.

Nice clean install and a perfect location. I guess you are the first one here to install a start button on the 348, I was the first one to install one on the F355. I think I'm the only one so far.

No. I got the idea from Zak who put it in his 348 first. He told me where to get it from. It's a Honda S2000 button. Did consider getting a 360CS/430 button, but they cost a lot more.

Haven't seen one on a 355 before. Yours looks really nice.

The start button looks good. Nice job!
Many a moon ago, I had a 348. I installed the 5 point harness the same way too. It worked out well. It's just a shame my 348 didn't run long enough for me to enjoy it. I also crashed it at Summit Point race track coming out of the pits. I guess that did help either!!

Actually I ran a red start button like 10 years ago while purging all the 348 electricals on my street 348 turned full race car. After gutting out the ferrari electronics you would be surprised how much better your car runs. Its like you gained horsepower or something. Certainly I got rid of weight. There must have been 30lbs of wires in that car and another 30 lbs of crap connected to those wires not counting the 50lbs of A/C stuff.

sorry my ignorance on the subject. How does this botton work in practice. Do you still need to turn the car key? But you still need keys to open car doors.

You turn the key to teh first stage and then press teh button.

The car will still start if I turn the key to stage 2 which I sometimes do as I forget about the start button sometimes.

My wife likes to finger it.

Sometimes I even let her push the start button as well.

    badoom!! :D :D

Do you have details on that install? I am thinking about installing bolts on my 92 348ts but don't know where to start. I was interested in the bolts as well, not the bar.

    Any info appreciated.

    Thanks all

    There's more info here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212159&highlight=harness

I did ask them to make extra bolts as other people were interested. Unfortunatly, the chap who made them was involved in an accident a day after he made my set and is retiring.

Something much more expensive to run and maintain than a Ferrari. It also needs constant care and attention.

It's a 9 month build and is custom made.

    ;)

Here's a couple from sunday. It was a meet organised by www.pistonheads.com

We met up in central london and drove to a pub/restaurant. We had 2 buggati veyrons, F50, Phantom drophead, assorted lambo's and ferrari's. Started off with 18 cars at 6:30am and had 36 cars when we reached the pub/resturant for breakfast.

Highlight for me was driving along with a Buggati behind me and another one in front.

    That's what I call a multi-million dollar sandwich!!!

Nice pix, Sy. Great little add-on too. I think I would put the button somewhere closer to the driver since I am a control freak. :D
