those three images are just great. Bet if you sold the white board version with a proper covering they would go.

Instead of that white board, why not you put your beautiful artworks on canvas or something that last longer!

    Keep doing this amazing work,

GT, versatile doesn't begin to describe it. But I'm intrigued by this metal work you mentioned - have you posted pictures of your metal work yet...? If so, can you provide a link...?

yes it does... especially the one below. But more on that later...

I do. I do paintings on canvas or paper. I dont erase those. :)
I just want to have a bit of creative fun here at my desk.
On my designated breaks and lunch time allotments...

Sure. You might remember them when you see them... A fellow FChatter - JavellinArt - has a plasma cutter and can cut my eps file i draw in Adobe Illustrator. The resultant piece is attached to an abstract painting on canvas. Kind of unique. Here are some links to some FChat threads:

just finished a new sharknose Ferrari. Will post soon...

I did this for my manager last year. She had an extra large white board in a small meeting area next to her desk and she wanted a show-stopper.
    It took about a month.
About a week after it was done one night the cleaning staff brushed up against it. Wide out about 5 city blocks. Oh the humanity! Repair didnt take long...
Unfortunatley, about six months later the area was redesignated as a work desk and had to be restructured.
THAT one hurt to erase. Big time... I knew it would be someday, but i thought at least a year or 2... ):

Thanks everyone for all the kudos and kind comments...

Are you a member of AFAS? Your work could easily be put up against the other artists I always see at Pebble Beach or Amelia Island.

thank you kindly... i try to explore new mediums every now and then.

Goodness... AFAS. I wish. I am honoured that you think so. I know of that group well. A very hard thing to enter. They are a very close-knit society and are very particular about who they allow in. I've met a few of them, Dallison, Koka (They juried a show i entred) Hoyt, Eberts (just a wonderful guy... met him at the Cavallino Classic. He took a few minutes to look at pics of my work and gave me a quick critique of few. One of the highlites of my day) Neale, Motta of Road & Track fame...
All of them produce astonishing works.

Thank you again. YOU made my day today...

Grant, I seriously think you have a good shot at becoming a member of AFAS. I recall a group of automotive artists based in the GTA and they're always showing at the T.O. auto show. Are you also a member? I have their card somewhere around the office.

i'd be VERY interested in finding out about that group. thx.
I had work in the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's "Art of the Automobile" juried show for about 5 years. Ken Dallison was one of the judges every year, Jay Koka joining the last year. I even won a couple of awards. But they ended that back around 2004. Real sorry to see that go. It gave us all some great exposure at a very well-attended event. The last couple of years they even took the art to Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver for their respective auto-shows as well. Very exciting.

Recently i have noticed Car Art Inc from the States have brought up work.

Thank you in advance... and thanks for the shot of confidence regarding AFAS. Its a dream/goal of mine for loooong time...

AJAC hasnt disbanded, they just stopped hosting/sponsoring the show... money reasons i guess. Never heard officially, and noone answered my inquiries at the time.

Perhaps i am too conspiracy-minded, but i find it odd that we "overlapped" CarArt's display from the States for only one year, they continued and we didnt... our display was just around the corner from them.
    just coincidence i guess...

Too bad really, we got to meet alot of like-minded artists, some from across the country. Like i said, there are not many venues for our work, save for the specialty shops, and they have only so much wall space. Most galleries tend to snub this type of work. I am struggling to change that... Even the juried show i just entered and got my "#15" accepted, i got a "critique" on a second work - "California Dreamin' " - that the painting would be improved if i cropped out the car. I was livid. I can take constructive criticism but that was just a below-the-belt wise-crack...

(-begin whining- boy, i just love to make things hard on myself dont i?... i love cars the price of a nice uppermiddleclass house, and paint artwork galleries tend not to want... maybe i should have continued the family tradition and have been a truck driver... -end whining-)

anyways.. sorry for the rant/vent, this topic gets me riled sometimes...

GT.....I really like Jay Koka.... I met him again at Pebble Beach and talked auto art with him over a comp. glass of wine. I'm a big fan of his work....however there seems to be more realism and contrast with your style..... His enzo under the awning of Paris Las Vegas looks a little cartoonish.... and it seems none of your work looks that way. So far I'm now a huge fan of yours..... Do you sell your work?

    lol... thanks.
Yes... the metal work was a hit for a while. Recently the ink and watercolour sketches did well (Check out my Greeting Card thread for more on that)... Sold a few originals over the years. Check out my site for the style/composition of my work. There is a pic of a 348 pencil drawing i did for a fellow FChatter a while ago. I'll post it here so its more clear...

Koka has a huge portfolio of work.. the bulk of which is Ferraris. Some of his originals are huge.
Thanks for the very kind comments... as stated above i sell the odd one every now and then... i dont get into prints so finding someone to buy originals is hard. One of reasons i am experimenting with oils and a "looser" style. PM or email me regarding prices...

    thx again all...

lol ... i am. They try to foster creativity around here... just doin my part. They seem to like it... as long as it doesnt interfere time-wise...

thank you kindly.. birthday wishes are much appreciated.
Saw "Quantum of Solace" on the weekend for my BDay.. Aston Martin chase is breathtaking... machine-gun editing though made that and other action scenes a tad hard to follow at times.... maybe i'm getting old...

    Grant,

Just found this thread and also spent a lot of other time looking at some of the other threads that were linked. I really hope they don't track my web site history here because I am sure busted today!

Your breadth of talent is truly amazing! I will check back often for more.

You mention that you have not pursued making prints of your work. Being a complete neophyte in this can I ask why? It seems a great way to support your hobby. I am not a 360 owner but your reflection piece is incredible - I would certainly buy a print of that. The Cali interior is georgous as well... Your technique is just such that it really strikes my eye as absolutely fantastic!

Please keep up the good work and continue to share your talents with us. We are very lucky.

    Curtis
