Bottom Line.....it's worth what the market will bare.
Excellent example of a gorgeous car. Well maintained, what more can you ask for? Keep the car, don't sell. You will be driving it for many spring and summer drives to come! The treatment of leukemia has made great strides in the last 10 years. I expect you to drive it to Cavallino in 2015! I will buy the first bottle of wine!
It's only been for sale for 10 days................. and those are not Dennig values they are Ferrari Market Letter values FWIW
Thanks Doc. I agree I don't expect to keel over anytime soon but my first love is motorcycle racing and that's what I plan to do while my health allows it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have seen your car for sale in a number of threads. I just have to say that I have been away from the Ferrari Market so I am not too up on prices but your car looks to be very nice. And I am suprised at the falling prices of 348s and 456s and all used Ferraris for that matter. Since I sold my 85 308 I have been yearning to get back in with a 348 spider and I guess I am one of those guys who really likes the 348 although I do love the 355 as well. If I was in a better situation myself I would be flying down to GA to look at your car but I am starting up again in my old career and money is a little tight. However, if I was faced with health problems - the first thing I would do is buy a nice 348 spider no matter what my financial position was. Perhaps it is a matter of perspective, but I would enjoy the hell out of your car and forget about selling it. That being said, I can't wait until I can find a car as nice as yours.
Remember FML is an ASKING PRICE INDEX. It also runs 3-4 weeks behind the market, at least. Sooo... those numbers are telling you where the ads they can find (primarily their own ads, as I recall) are listing cars for sale. They do not track actual selling prices. And remember this market is a moving target. Today's price may be wildly different from tomorrow's. DM
I dont mean to beat you up on price however I go through this same kind of debate with my listing clients every day. 1. This is a buyers market. 2. The last price paid for any comp even remotely like yours is the highest price you are going to get. [with the exception of a Prince Charming buyer] 3. Prince Charming buyers are few and far between. 4. The condition of your item will not add enough value to offset the appeal of a lower price. It will however cause your item to sell 1st before a comparatively priced one. 5. If you want to sell then your list your unit at the lowest price you will take and refuse to budge off that price. This will get rid of all the bottom feeders who are playing the how low will he go game. Youll get a lot of 1st time callers but only serious buyers will call again. 6. In a buyers market sellers do not set the market price. [thats why its call a buyers market] 7. If you havent sold your item in 30 days lower the price. If you anticipate the market your unit will sell and if you follow the market then you just keep loosing money. 8. The market is never wrong Youve gotten a lot of excellent advice in this thread. I would suggest you dont take your own.
I agree with all of the above. Nice to hear it presented without the negative tone. There are worse things than being stuck with a Ferrari LOL, Life really sucks having to drive this car.... well, not really.
Nice photo on the bike. Anyone that can ride like that can beat anything! Keep the car, in 15 years you will be glad you did. A dear friend of mine had a similar diagnosis and unloaded some toys ( including a 1963 Corvette). He has got them all back including the Submariner I stored for him. That was 8 years ago .
The only negative tone I read is your whining about not liking the opinions you asked for. You ask for advice and then are less than appreciative to those who take there time to give it. What you call negativity, is what most are calling todays used ferrari market... just the cold hard truth. would you really rather hear: WOW what a deal. someones getting a steal. recent history: sold some property last august... listed for 3 weeks... 1 showing. dropped price. more showings.. no offers. dropped price again... voila... offer. sold! price has fallen 10-15% since then... but no longer my problem. I suggest you re-read your thread, and see who the negative one really is...
Ferrari Market Letter price are definitely off...360 are less 100k and 328 are less than 40k... at 59k, you can spent a little more and get a 355...buyers market kills prices true value is what someone is willing to pay...as stated previous, this is one the step children in the Fcar world...
Michael. The mods are doing their jobs. Frankly, how are we to know of "special circumstances" that might have an affect on a member here? Did Wayne know up front of Ben's health issues? Nope. The rules are clear. Posting items for sale, or links to items for sale is a TOU violation. We're supposed to delete the posts and threads when we see them, and advise the user that they should be posted in FerrariAds.com. Posting in FerrariAds.com requires being subscribed. There's no malice here, just a mod trying to do his job. Frankly, Ben tossing his personal problem at Wayne was unfair. Wayne didn't delete the post, did he? He simply made the point he's supposed to make as a moderator, without malice, and without knowledge of Ben's personal issue. Ben, I wish you the best with your upcoming battle, and will add you to my prayer list.
