That's an interesting idea for the 348. These kind of fun, easy projects are the best. I personally had been tempted to get for my 308 the Ferrari challenge suede wheel Ricambi had for a while.

Here's an example of the 360CS wheel you were talking about. It is a bit more than $170 though. Although these days the wholesale on a CS wheel from Ferrari is $3500. Its probably made on the same production line as all the other inexpensive Momos!

I almost wrote something similar to this in response to that guy's post, but he doesn't have a Ferrari, and in this market when you can get his wanted 348 for $35K, anyone who isn't a "cheapskate" should have three or four kicking around their garage, not ZERO...

Congratulations on your car, I'm ecstatic about having mine, especially since I thought I would be well into my 50's before owning one. It wouldn't have been possible without me being a resourceful "cheapskate."

I think you did a fantastic job w/ your steering wheel. Great work. I would want one for my 348 spider.

Anybody applied an aftermarket red or yellow line to the center point on their steering wheel?
    Like the above pic.......

I wonder if he read it! I noticed afterward that he didn't own a Ferrari which made his comment even worse in my book. Your 355 is stunning, I love the photo you have in your profile, kind of makes an inanimate object seem alive.

I'm ecstatic about mine as well. There is a sort of visceral element to driving one. The feel, the smells, and OMG the sounds! I know there are some that believe that the true Ferrari must have a 12 piece orchestra, but my goodness, I don't believe I have ever heard a Ferrari (4, 6, 8, 12, what have you) that didn't sound absolutely intoxicating during a virtuoso performance! Whether it is mastered by Ferrari, Tubi, X-ost, or any other you can think of, they just sound magnificent.

Oh well. To those of you who are finding more efficient, cheaper, better, more sound alternatives, keep up the good work. It is this kind of ingenuity that really makes this board what it is.

    Keep driving!!!!!!!

Thanks guys! I love her so much. Getting the bank account ready for an engine out and valve job, sadly. Unless of course, Pap wants to come to San Francisco and do the job with me. I'll let you live with me and my girl for a year, rent free!!! She's an awesome cook...

Sorry for going OT, this steering wheel is really beautiful!!

That is an awesome job. That particular wheel is very similar, if not exact ,as the Momo EVo wheel I have ,wow, way cheaper too , time to market those for sure!

Gotta say I have one of those Momos as well and they transform the feel of the car. It never crossed my mind to put the carvellino in the centre hub though - now I've got a weekend project!! No airbag is a down side -but depends on the individual I guess. I wired mine so the pass side still works - so at least my selfish decision doesn't "impact" on anyone who's with me at the time :)

Just bought one of these wheels for my 348 Spider, as the original wheel has sun damage to the leather at the top of the rim.

Will be doing some mods to the new wheel when it arrives in a few days but not yet sure what? I will let you know when its finished.

    Regards,
    Phil.
