I will be going to preview the LA autoshow tomorrow. Keep your eyes on the this thread, I will be posting pictures asap. Any specific details you guys are interested in? BTW, We are taking deposits on the cars with deliveries starting in May/June 2009.
will there be any dealers left in the US to get warranty service? Unfortunately, this is only partly tongue-in-cheek. 8 months is a long time...
No, it's pretty much identical to the original G Spyder. I saw pics earlier today, I'll get a link now.
The engine cover is very similar to the past model. Part of the engine is covered by the convertable top and its mechanism so a clear engine cover would not get the desired effect. The top itself would have to be redesigned inorder to facilitate a complete view of the engine.
Here are the pics, sorry I can't post them, ran out of space http://www.netcarshow.com/lamborghini/2009-gallardo_lp560-4_spyder/
Hmmm... You see with the previous model the strakes on the bonnet meshed with the strakes on top of the rear quarter panels creating a cohesive look across the whole rear deck. Without the panel strakes the bonnet looks wrong somehow...
Holy crap you're right. My bad. Now I'm all kinds of confused. I like the regular Gallardo Spyder, but for some reason those pics of the LP560-4 Spyder just look wrong. Maybe it's those specific pics somehow.
I drove it last week...trust me...you'll love it! The clear engine cover would be lost on the car. All you would see is the exhaust cover and the top all folded up over the engine. It will be in the USA as a 2010 model. Cheers' N24RE
And of course I make a post 20 minutes ago and now I get the press release. Here you go! LP560-4 Press Release Best, Steve

I like it, but for some reason, the stance isn't as mean looking on the Spyder like it is on the Coupe, when you look at it from the front-side view.
Nice Pic E! Good to see you there. I took these earlier in the night. Car looked great, and I'm not a big lambo guy . Was really impressed. cant see the wheels clearly. are they same as coupe in black or something different? im interested in a g spider but also want to track it. can someone find out if the roll hoops can be placed in the up position for track then lowered after. ive seen this on old spiders at tracks but dont know how its done. can dealer do it? thanks
The wheel options are the same as a coupe so you will have a couple style and color choices. Great pics so far! I took a few but there were a lot of people in the way. As soon as I fire up the laptop I will sort through and see what is fit to post. I love the full alcantara interior on the show car. I may have to order our demo that way!
Well, The car photos on here already are far superior to the ones I was able to get. But I got a couple great shots of the 560 engine and transaxle. This is a beautiful package! You can see a lot of the details that are normally out of view. I would love to get my hands on one of these and use it as a base for a cofee table. Absolutely beautiful! Hmmmm..... let's see, blue or rosso vik? Can't wait to see one "in the flesh" when they finally show up at my local Lamborghini dealership. Gary
