Here's another one - this time a mint kit, ending in just over 3 hours time. Bidding currently at $596.01

The last one I referred to went for $575.00, so at least vintage slot cars are holding their prices !

I'm preparing a blog on #0834 and I wonder if someone could help me put the record straight on the history of #0834 and #018 at Targa Florio in 1970 and 1971.

The online records at Barchetta and racingsportscars.com show several different possibilities,

Barchetta shows the 1970 #64 entry as being #0834 on this link:-

    http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/0834.166P.htm

with chassis #018 being the #64 entry in 1970 and #26 entry in 1971 on this link :-

    http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/Dino/018.206S.htm

while racingsportscars.com shows #018 as being the #64 entry in 1970 and the #26 entry in 1971 on this link :-

    http://www.racingsportscars.com/chassis/archive/206S-018.html

Relevant answers maybe used and credited in a forthcoming blog.

Thanking you in anticipation of your answers.

Photo of #0834 at the 1967 Targa Florio. At this point it still has its 166P lower body but has a new roof and flared rear end. It also has a cut line just behind the side scoop and is running Firestone tires on wider 166P/F1 wheels. This was a semi works entry with a speciale works 206 motor. At some point the car must have been completely rebodied to a later style 206 Dino body as the restored car is all 206(or they did a chassis plate swap at the factory in August/September 1967).

Many thanks to all contributors to this thread: it has helped me enormously to fill gaps in the history of my Dino. For those interested in taking a look at her: 0834 will be at the BSWR in December as well as at Cavallino and Amelia beginning of next year.
    Thanks again.

Looking at the present pictures you can see maybe what is left of the original body. The look #0834 has now is peculiar compared to most other 206's. I wonder at what point the body was modified to look more like a 206S and by whom. Does anyone have any factory photos of #0834 being modified with this new body?? After the 1967 Targo Florio #0834 did go back to the factory and was still owned by SEFAC at the time.

    Hi Boudewijn,

Thanks for the link but that's not what I was looking for. I am talking about when the body was transformed into a 1966 206S style body. That is still the #0834 166P lower body with a 206 hillclimb motor.

The one on the left is a 1966 body, I think chassis #0842 testing before Sebring 1966, and the one on the right is the 166P lower body #0834 being tested in late 1966 at Modena(Marcel Massini posted a page back). The body change happened after September/October 1967.
